Abstract: In a method for operating a medical imaging apparatus having subsystems, a control protocol assigned to a scan sequence to be performed is provided to a control computer that determines sequence control data for the control protocol, which define different functional subsequences of the scan sequence. Different effective volumes are assigned to each functional subsequence, and current ambient conditions of the apparatus are determined for the sequence control data and associated effective volumes, for a series of states of physiological processes that occur during the scan sequence. Control signals for the scan sequence are determined from the sequence control data, the effective volumes and the current ambient conditions per observed state, that optimize the functional subsequences of the scan sequence locally.

Abstract: An intermediate voltage circuit current converter having two current converter sections arranged in series on the direct voltage side is disclosed. The current converter section has a capacitor connected in parallel with two bridge modules that are connected in series with each other. The output of the current converter section is located on the series connection between the two bridge modules and the outputs of the two current converter sections are connected to a further bridge module. Each bridge modules comprises a series connection of two power semiconductor units. The intermediate potentials on the connection between the two power semiconductor units in each of the bridge modules are electrically connected to one another by a further capacitor, and the intermediate potential of the further bridge module provides the phase connection of the intermediate voltage circuit current converter for a given phase of the intermediate voltage circuit current converter.
Abstract: In a method for operating a medical imaging examination apparatus having multiple subsystems controlled by a control computer in a scan sequence, a control protocol for the scan is provided to the control computer, which determines sequence control data for the control protocol that define different functional subsequences of the scan, with different effective volumes assigned to each functional subsequence. Current ambient conditions of the apparatus are determined that are decisive for the determined relevant sequence control data and associated effective volumes. Control signals for the scan are determined from the sequence control data, the effective volumes and the current ambient conditions determined that optimize the functional subsequences of the scan.

Abstract: The invention concerns a method to generate an MR image of an examination subject of MR signals of the examination subject being detected with a receiver coil element of a magnetic resonance system. A spatially related sensitivity is determined for the receiver coil element. A mask is generated for the receiver coil element depending on the sensitivity of the receiver coil element in order to therewith mask a region of the MR image, in which region the receiver coil element has at least one predetermined sensitivity. At least one RF excitation pulse and at least one magnetic field gradient are activated to acquire MR data with the receiver coil element, and a preliminary MR image is generated depending on MR data acquired therewith. The mask of the receiver coil element is applied to the preliminary MR image in order to generate an MR image of the receiver coil element, and an MR image of the examination subject is generated from the MR image for the receiver coil element.
Abstract: A method associates errors by causal relationship in software systems where multiple threads share access to hardware and/or software components. Where a software object, such as a lock, is provided, a thread can place an error ID into the object if encountered while the first thread controls the object. A second thread can retrieve the error ID and associate it as a parent error for any time-out error encountered while waiting for the software object. Errors can be reported and displayed in a causal graph for determining root causes. Errors can have a severity that can facilitate the display of errors to a user. Root cause errors can be assigned the severity of the most severe of its child errors to assist a user in determining a root cause. Errors can further be displayed or masked based on the severity assigned to the errors and/or their parent or child errors.

Abstract: An apparatus and a method for generating an image from N reception signal data sets of signals received by a plurality of coils of a magnetic resonance tomography appliance from a region of a body to be examined using an image processing computer are provided. The apparatus includes a degree-of-compression determining device.
