Abstract: This disclosure provides methods and devices for quantitating, separating and/or detecting water in a liquid, gas or solid sample comprising one or more chemicals, the method comprising: providing the liquid, gas or solid sample comprising water and the one or more chemicals; and exposing said liquid, gas or solid sample to at least one solid support including at least one dicationic and/or tricationic species of Formula I or II adsorbed, absorbed or immobilized on the solid support.
Abstract: The present invention provides compositions, methods, and kits for protecting thermostable DNA polymerase during amplification reactions conducted at a temperature ranging from about 40° C. to greater than 100° C. The composition comprises a thermostable DNA polymerase and an anionic detergent or zwitterionic detergent.

Abstract: The present invention generally relates to the large-scale (e.g., greater than 1 kg scale) preparation of low molecular weight polylysine or polyornithine in high yield by preparing a polylysine or polyornithine having a weight average molecular weight from about 12,500 Daltons to about 22,000 Daltons and hydrolyzing it to produce a polylysine or polyornithine having a weight average molecular weight from about 5,500 Daltons to about 12,000 Daltons.
