  • Patent number: 6504709
Abstract: The present invention proposes an input device capable of joining modules, which device comprises a keyboard and at least an external module. At least an adapting port and a circuit control unit is attached on a keyboard. Each adapting port is connected to the circuit control unit. At least a joining groove is inwardly formed at each outer edge of the housing of the keyboard. Additionally, the outer edge of each module extends to form a joining plate. Through the join of the joining groove and the joining plate, the keyboard and each module can be joined together. Moreover, the output terminal of each module is connected to one adapting port. Thereby, the functionality of the keyboard can be expanded through linkage with different modules and arbitrary replacement of modules.

  • Patent number: 6495782
Abstract: A keyswitch structure with a keycap having a balance lever is disclosed. A balance lever is pivotally installed within a keycap of a key switch. The balance lever is formed with two hooks. The balance lever is slidably matched to slots in a key seat. At least one block element (having a shape like a rib) is installed within the keycap. As the balance lever is not installed in the slots, the block element will generate a force to support and stop the balance lever so that the keycap of the key seat can not be assembled in the key seat normally and thus, it is failed in testing. Therefore, bad products can be found in the testing process. In the present invention, since a dull-proof structure is added to the balance lever of a key switch, it will prevent from unbalance due to the ineffectiveness of the balance lever as that in the prior art.

  • Publication number: 20020174783
Abstract: The present invention relates to an apparatus for keyboard pad-printing and a method thereof for printing on the contact surfaces of keys of a keyboard in order to form a protective film layer with clamped-pattern peaks and valleys on each of the keys of the keyboard. The apparatus comprises a clamped-pattern printing board and a pad-printing module. The clamped-pattern printing board has a roughened surface on which clamped-pattern peaks and valleys are provided, and the pad-printing module has a plurality of pads. The invention forms a protective film layer on the contact surface by pressing the pad-printing module onto the roughened surface with the protective coating thereon, and then pressing the pads onto the contact surfaces, so that the protective film layer protects the symbol pattern on the key, and the cost and flaw rate of the keyboard pad-print are both reduced, thus simplifying the manufacturing process.
