Patent number: 4917763Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of recovering chemicals from spent liquors while at the same time utilizing energy liberated during the process. The spent liquors are gasified and partially disintegrated in a reactor (1), external thermal energy independent of combustion being simultaneously supplied to the reaction zone (2) of the reactor, after which the resultant melt is separated (at 9) at substantially the temperature prevailing at combustion, the gaseous product thereby formed being quenched in a quenching and cooling zone (6), to a temperature below 950.degree. C. A product gas is thus obtained which contains substantially no sulphur impurities, an alkali product with high sulphide content and an alkali product substantially free from sulphide and having low Na.sub.2 CO.sub.3 content.Type: GrantFiled: June 10, 1988Date of Patent: April 17, 1990Assignee: SKF Steel Engineering ABInventors: Sven Santen, Ragnar Bernhard, Jarl Martensson

Patent number: 4913749Abstract: In a process for case-hardening rolling bearing elements of low-alloy nickeliferous steel, the rolling bearing elements are carburized in a dissociating carburizing gas, cooled down, heated to hardening temperature, austenitized in the carburized layer and, lastly, quenched. So that no brittleness of the rolling bearing elements takes place upon carburization due to dissociated hydrogen, the bearing elements are cooled from carburizing heat down to about 300.degree. C. in agitated inert gas and then held at this temperature, so that sufficient dissociated hydrogen escapes from the carburized layer of the rolling bearing elements. Subsequent heating of the said elements to hardening temperature or to intermediate annealing temperature is advantageously effected after holding at 300.degree. Patent number: 4911610Abstract: In a drive device for pumps consisting of a pump impeller mounted in a pump chamber, a pump cover covers the pump chamber and has an extension and a bore passing from the pump chamber to the outside. A shaft is connected at its inner end to the pump impeller and at its outer end in a torsion-proof manner by way of a coupling element to a drive wheel. A bearing supports the shaft and drive wheel in the housing bore and extension respectively. The coupling element is formed by an external edge rigidly connected to the drive wheel and covers the outer bearing and the extension laterally on the outside. A cover plate with a center section connects in a torsion-proof manner to the shaft, and is adjusted to elastically adjust the cover plate relative to the pump cover either inward toward the pump chamber or outward away from the pump chamber, thereby providing for automatic adjustment of the radial and axial load-supporting bearings means to remove their play.Type: GrantFiled: May 13, 1988Date of Patent: March 27, 1990Assignee: SKF GmbHInventors: Armin Olschewski, Manfred Brandenstein, Horst M. Patent number: 4891566Abstract: To regulate the speed of a plurality of asynchronous motors fed by a converter having a variable output frequency and output voltage and having a load-dependent slip, particularly asynchronous motors for driving spindles of a textile machine, the rotational frequency of several selected asynchronous motors is measured by means of respective digital frequency indicators. This measurement takes place in continuous repetition, always beginning simultaneously. The pulses of the frequency indicators are counted by means of respective first counters (1-6), all of which release a pulse when they reach the same counter condition. An OR circuit (13-17) connects the counter outputs with a second pulse counter (18) in such a manner that this condition is reached first by the output pulse released by the highest rotational frequency and then by the output pulses released by the second-highest rotational frequency, etc.Type: GrantFiled: August 5, 1988Date of Patent: January 2, 1990Assignee: SKF Textilmaschinen-Komponenten GmbHInventors: Wilhelm Sturwald, Stefan Wieczorek

Patent number: 4889520Abstract: Two springs inserted in series, which press a tension roller against a drive belt, are provided in a tension device for a drive belt. The tension spring essentially effects adjustment of the tension roller during assembly and after that effectively is inoperative. The working spring is active during operation and within a limited range of adjustment of the tension roller. The tensions of the two springs are designed so that during assembly equilibrium of forces exists at a middle working point within the path of adjustment. These features result in a simple and precise adjustment during assembly.Type: GrantFiled: March 10, 1989Date of Patent: December 26, 1989Assignee: SKF GmbHInventors: Manfred Brandenstein, Gerhard Herrmann, Roland Haas
