Abstract: The present invention provides a non-contact photoplethysmographic (PPG) pulse measurement device, and oxygen saturation and blood pressure measurement devices using the PPG pulse measurement device. The PPG pulse measurement device includes a sensing unit including at least two light emitting units for emitting light into a human body without making direct contact with skin, and a light receiving unit for sensing reflected light. A signal separation unit separates output of the sensing unit into a ripple component and a ripple-free component. A microprocessor unit monitors the ripple-free component and compares the ripple-free component with a DC signal value. A luminance adjustment unit adjusts luminance of the light emitting units. A filter and amplification unit eliminates noise from the ripple component. An A/D conversion unit converts output of the filter and amplification unit into a digital signal. A signal transmission unit transmits output of the A/D conversion unit.
Abstract: The present invention provides a biomarker composition for detecting diabetic retinopathy comprising at least one protein selected from the group consisting of proteins as set forth in SEQ ID NOS: 1 to 169. And also, the present invention provides a kit for diagnosing diabetic retinopathy, comprising a molecule specifically binding to at least one protein selected from the group consisting of proteins as set forth in SEQ ID NOS: 1 to 169. It has been newly found that 105 proteins as set forth in SEQ ID NOS: 1 to 105 are significantly over-expressed in the vitreous humors obtained from PDR patients, while 64 proteins as set forth in SEQ ID NOS: 106 to 169 are significantly over-expressed in those obtained from normal people. Therefore, the proteins can be used for biomarker capable of detecting diabetic retinopathy. The biomarker can provide fundamental information in researching vitreoretinal disorders, such as diabetic retinopathy.

Abstract: There are provided a cooperative diversity method and a cooperative diversity system using opportunistic relaying. In cooperative diversity wireless communications, an optimum relay is selected considering an interference effect between adjacent cells, and the selected relay transmits a data signal received from a transmitter to a receiver. Accordingly, an optimum relay is selected considering interference between channels not only in a single cell environment but also a multi cell environment, and a signal is transmitted to a receiver through the selected relay, thereby increasing transmission efficiency and improving reliability.

Abstract: Techniques, apparatus and systems are described for performing variable length decoding. In one aspect, a variable length decoding apparatus includes a first computation unit to determine whether a symbol corresponding to an input data is included in an upper group or a lower group of a variable length code tree. Responsive to the determination, when the symbol corresponding to the input data is included in the lower group, the first computation unit detects look-up table information corresponding to a subgroup that includes the symbol corresponding to the input data within the lower group that includes multiple subgroups. The variable length decoding apparatus includes a second computation unit to detect the symbol corresponding to the input data by searching a look-up table corresponding to the look-up table information when the look-up table information is received from the first computation unit.
