  • Patent number: 5461503
Abstract: A color matrix display unit which has a screen having at least three sets pixels, all pixels in a same one of the three sets being of the same color among red, blue and green and all said pixels of a same one of said sets being distributed in a matrix arrangement comprising rows and columns. A plurality of column conductors each simultaneously addresses all pixels in a same column. A plurality of row conductors each simultaneously addresses all pixels in a same line. Each column conductor allocated to red or blue pixels addresses an overall pixel area that is about double the overall pixel area addressed by one of the column conductors allocated to a green pixel. A drive circuit connected to the column conductors addresses the green pixels with a time or space repetition period which is half the period for red and green pixels.

  • Patent number: 5453824
Abstract: An electro-photographic printing device has a development location where toner is transferred onto a drum in proportion to the amount of light charges on the drum and a transfer location where toner is transferred from the drum to a sheet of paper. A heater unit for fixing the toner by heating it to a predetermined temperature has a heater and a blower for heat removal. Responsive to a call for printing, data to be printed are stored in a memory. The heater is energized until a set temperature is obtained. Printing is initiated as soon as the set temperature is obtained. The blower is stopped after heating has been discontinued, after printing has been completed, until there is a new call.

  • Patent number: 5446374
Abstract: A circuit has two multiplier modules. Each multiplier module has at least one controllable potentiometer for adjusting the amplitude ratio between an output signal and an input signal of the module. The potentiometers have substantially identical characteristics and they are controlled in the same manner such that the amplitude ratios of the multiplier modules are substantially equal. One of the modules receives as its input signal the first signal to be multiplied and delivers an output signal that is proportional to the product of the two operands, while the other module receives as its input signal a reference voltage and as its output signal it delivers a feedback signal which is servo-controlled to a value that is approximately equal to the value of the second signal to be multiplied. The circuit is applicable to meters for electrical energy.

  • Patent number: 5311281
Abstract: The gyroscope is based on the Sagnac effect and comprises a coiled dielectric waveguide, a source of electromagnetic waves provided with a splitter for sending two contrarotating waves from the source round the ring and an interference detector receiving the contrarotating waves. An electro-optical modulator is controlled to impart periodic alternating and symmetrical phase modulation to the waves at a period that is substantially twice the travel time in the waveguide. The modulator is placed upstream from the waveguide for one wave and downstream for the other. A second modulator receives the output of a phase shift sawtooth generator of adjustable slope and is placed upstream from the waveguide for one wave and downstream for the other. An electronic measurement circuit controls the direction and the value of the slope of the sawtooth to cancel the phase difference of the waves received by the interference detector.
