  • Patent number: 9146519
Abstract: A sheet conveying device includes upstream side rollers; discharge rollers located downstream from the upstream side rollers in the feeding direction of sheets, to discharge sheets to a discharge tray; a reflective optical detector located between the discharging rollers and the upstream side rollers, to emit light and to receive light reflected off of the sheets; and a recognizing unit to detect, based on output of the detector, whether or not a sheet is present at a detection region of the detector. When a sheet is fed over a conveying path inclined with respect to a detection face of the detector, the discharge rollers feed the sheet in a bent state between the upstream side rollers and the discharge rollers, so that the sheet is close to the detector or the sheet is close to being perpendicular to an optical axis of the detector.

  • Patent number: 9146502
Abstract: A developer container includes a container body, a movable wall, a shaft, and a stirring member. The container body is formed with a developer discharge port. The developer discharge port lies at a position higher than a lowest part of the container body. The movable wall includes an outer surface slidably in close contact with an inner surface of the container body, and a conveying surface defining a storage space for the developer. The movable wall conveys the developer to the developer discharge port from a predetermined initial position owing to repeated movements of the movable wall in the first direction and a second direction. When the shaft is rotated in a first rotational direction, the movable wall moves in the first direction, and when the shaft is rotated in a second rotational direction opposite to the first rotational direction, the movable wall moves in the second direction.

  • Patent number: 9147217
Abstract: Systems and methods for analyzing the risk associated with lenders offering vehicle loans is determined based on historical data associated with the vehicle. Vehicle registration data for a region is accessed to determine the vehicles registered in the region and the lien holders of the vehicles. Historical data of the vehicles is accessed and analyzed to determine if any events adversely affecting the value of the vehicles, such as vehicle title brands, are associated with the vehicles. The vehicle history data is associated with the lien holders of the vehicles. A risk value may be determined for each lien holder by comparing the lien holder's total number of liens to those liens on vehicles associated with history events adversely affecting the value of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 9143125
Abstract: Circuits and methods related to a switch having extended termination bandwidth are disclosed. A switch having an input end and an output end, and capable of being in an ON state and an OFF state, can include a termination circuit configured to yield an extended frequency bandwidth in which a desired OFF state termination impedance is provided. A termination circuit may include two or more electrically parallel resistor-capacitor branches coupled to the switch input or output end. A switch termination circuit may provide an OFF state termination impedance that is substantially equal to the switch ON state termination impedance. Also, a termination circuit may enable a desired termination impedance without sacrificing other switch performance features, including insertion loss, isolation, or VSWR difference between ON and OFF states. Also disclosed are examples of how the foregoing features can be implemented in different products and methods of fabrication.

  • Patent number: 9141072
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a heating element, an interior temperature/humidity detection section, and a controller. The heating element is conducted during connection of the image forming apparatus to an external power source to heat an image bearing member. The interior temperature/humidity detection section detects temperature and humidity in the interior of the image forming apparatus. The controller performs a refresh operation when a relative humidity calculated on the basis of the temperature and humidity detected by the interior temperature/humidity detection section immediately after the image forming apparatus is connected to the external power source is higher than the preset value. The refresh operation is an operation for supply of developer from a development device to the image bearing member and for polish of the surface of the image bearing member with the use of a polishing member.

  • Patent number: 9144103
Abstract: A method, a mobile device, and a wireless system provide wireless local communication systems and methods from Wide Area Network (WAN) fallback allowing proximate users to maintain connectivity therebetween while WAN connectivity is lost. The wireless local communication systems and methods leverage access point credentials for the WAN to set up local wireless communication amongst the mobile devices when WAN connectivity is lost or when commanded to do so. Local mobile device users can maintain communication such as in a talkgroup while WAN connectivity is disrupted or undesired. The systems and methods include an algorithm where a first mobile device identifies the loss of WAN connectivity and becomes a WAN access point for other proximate mobile devices which share common preconfigured credentials. Subsequent mobile devices which detect the loss of WAN connectivity can associate with the AP thereby maintaining local communication using local wireless connectivity techniques.
