Abstract: A device registration program causes a computer in a mobile terminal to function as a device detecting section, a designated device discriminating section, a display control section, and a device registration section. The device detecting section detects any devices communicable with the mobile terminal. The designated device discriminating section discriminates a device designated according to an orientation of the mobile terminal on the basis of location information and orientation information of the mobile terminal and location information of each of the detected devices. The display control section causes display of a list of icons indicating models of the detected devices and display of an icon of the discriminated device in a different manner than the other icons in the list. The device registration section registers the discriminated device.

  • Publication number: 20150254037
Abstract: Provided is an image forming system that allows a user to quickly reach a desired setting item so as to resume alteration of the setting of the image forming apparatus and a job manipulation between a mobile terminal and an image forming apparatus. The image forming apparatus starts an operation of changing the setting when an operation panel part is operated. Then, a terminal apparatus displays setting items of the image forming apparatus on a display panel in the form of a menu map. When an operation for determining a setting item is performed on a menu-map screen on the terminal apparatus, the image forming apparatus changes a setting screen to be displayed on the display panel to a setting screen for the setting item indicated by transmitted information.

  • Patent number: 9128448
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a fixing unit, an apparatus main body, a nip pressure changing member, a driving source, and a clutch mechanism. The fixing unit includes a first rotating member, a second rotating member, and a fixing nip forming mechanism. The fixing nip forming mechanism forms a fixing nip between the first rotating member and second rotating member. To the apparatus main body, the fixing unit is detachably installed. The nip pressure changing member presses the fixing nip forming mechanism and to change a pressure of the fixing nip by rotating around a rotation axis. The driving source rotates the nip pressure changing member. The clutch mechanism permits a transmission of a rotation from the driving source to the nip pressure changing member and restricts a transmission of a rotation from the nip pressure changing member to the driving source.

  • Patent number: 9129460
Abstract: System and method for providing feedback to drivers. The system monitors selected vehicle parameters while a vehicle is being driven, and detects one or more vehicle operation violations by comparing the selected vehicle parameters to predetermined thresholds. A mentoring message is provided to the driver if the threshold is exceeded. If a vehicle operation violation has not been corrected within a preselected time period, then a violation report may be sent to a third party or a central server and/or a different mentoring message may be provided to the driver. Vehicle parameter data may be monitored from an on-board vehicle diagnostic system. The mentoring message may be an audible warning, such as a spoken message, or a visual warning, such as a text message. The selected vehicle parameters may be a vehicle speed, a vehicle acceleration, or a vehicle seatbelt use.

  • Patent number: 9131344
Abstract: Disclosed is a method of automatic establishment of a location-based talk group call with reduced messaging overhead. The initiating device may be a subscriber unit (SU). The SU determines a geographic reference location and generates location data representative of the location. The SU broadcasts a location-based talk group call header including the location data and including a location-based talk group call identifier field set to cause other SUs receiving the call header to receive and output subsequent data associated with the call header responsive to determining that its current geographic location satisfies the location criterion of the call. The location criterion may be fully determined by the initiating SU and specified in the call header, and may take the form of a specified radius that extends from the geographic reference location represented in the call header.

  • Patent number: 9129208
Abstract: A method for determining a color profile from received raster data and printing the raster data is provided. Color profiles provide a mapping from a color space of the raster data to a color space of the printer, which typically uses CMYK toner or ink. A text color profile may be employed to print crisper text, or a photo color profile may be employed to produce better images. The raster data includes a plurality of raster scan lines containing digital pixel values. The method includes determining a number of sequentially repeated digital pixel values and a number of sequentially non-repeated digital pixel values for the plurality of raster scan lines. A color profile is selected based on a determination between the repeated and non-repeated digital pixel values. An example image forming apparatus that may carry out the method is also provided.

  • Patent number: 9128710
Abstract: A read back bit sequence and charge constraint information are obtained. A lower bound on a number of bit errors associated with the read back bit sequence is determined based at least in part on the read back bit sequence and the charge constraint information. The lower bound and an error correction capability threshold associated with an error correction decoder are compared. In the event the lower bound is greater than or equal to the error correction capability threshold, an error correction decoding failure is predicted and in response to the prediction a component is configured to save power.
