Abstract: Turbo equalization is performing by using a soft output detector to perform decoding. At least a portion of a local iteration of decoding is performed using a soft output decoder. A metric associated with decoding progress is generated and it is determined whether to perform another local iteration of decoding based at least in part on the metric.

Abstract: The disclosure of this application is directed to a downhole tool comprising a central element/member and a sleeve that is rotatably and orbitally disposed around the central element/member. The sleeve rotates and orbits around the central element/member responsive to fluid flowing through the downhole too. The disclosure is also related to a method of advancing the downhole tool in a well by flowing fluid through the tool.

Abstract: A fixing device includes a fixing member, a pressing member and a separating member. The fixing member is provided with a sheet passing region and a non-sheet passing region. The separating member has a separating plate and a restricting piece. The restricting piece is provided with a curving surface on a region including the contacting portion with the non-sheet passing region. The curving surface has a first curving area and a second curving area. The first curving area is provided on a downstream side from the contacting portion in a rotating direction of the fixing member. The second curving area is provided on an upstream side from the contacting portion in the rotating direction of the fixing member. The second curving area has a radius of curvature larger than that of the first curving area.

The victim group of cells is read using a second read threshold to obtain a second raw read which includes one or more values. A neighboring read, corresponding to a neighboring group of one or more cells associated with the victim group of cells, is obtained. A composite read is generated, including by selecting from at least the first raw read and the second raw read based at least in part on the neighboring read.

Abstract: A magnetically connected universal computer power adapter is presented. The computer power adapter provides a power supply, a power cord, a cord connector, and a charging plug. The cord connector and charging plug each contain a magnet that magnetically couple the cord connector to the charging plug. The cord connector may couple with more than one type of charging plug, allowing the universal computer power adapter to be used with many different computer models.

The surgical device also has first and second locking suture guides configured to receive at least one locking suture for knotting to hold the first and second clamp jaws in a clamped position.

Some embodiments include, after receiving at least a portion of a file at a computing system, obtaining information about the file at a first time. First information is stored in a data structure, the first information comprising information that identifies the file and the information about the file at the first time. Then, information about the file at a second time after the first time is obtained. Second information is stored in a memory of the computing system, the second information comprising information that identifies the file and the information about the file at the second time. It is determined whether the second information matches the first information. In response to determining that the second information matches the first information, the file is sent from the computing system to a predetermined destination. In some embodiments, the file comprises a facsimile communication.

Abstract: A surgical clamp jaw is disclosed, having an inner profile and a deflection control profile opposite the inner profile. In one embodiment, the inner profile has a first substantially concave profile in an unclamped position and a second substantially flat profile in a clamped position. In one embodiment, the deflection control profile has one or more sets of corresponding abutment surfaces, at least one set of which is not contacting each other when the inner profile is in the unclamped position and which is contacting each other when the inner profile is in the clamped position. In one embodiment, the surgical clamp jaw defines one or more flexion assistance voids, wherein at least one of the one or more flexion assistance voids is in contact with a gap between one of the one or more sets of corresponding abutment surfaces.

The printing portion prints, on a sheet, an image based on image data and ejects the printed sheet to the ejection tray. The user nodes, the first nodes, and a second node in the tree are assigned addresses that identify parent-child relationship of nodes in the tree. The second node is a parent node of the first nodes. The packet routing unit (a1) stores the packet if the source address is identical to an own node address, (a2) transfers the packet to a child node if the source address indicates the child node, and (a3) transfers the packet to a parent node in the other cases.

Abstract: There is disclosed a device-based eCare solution that facilitates computerized consumer service on consumer devices. The system may include an end device, a back-end server eCare system, and a communications technology. One or more consumer eCare applications, such as balance and pricing applications, consumer assistance applications, diagnostic applications, and anticipatory applications, may be resident on the device. The end device may be configured to monitor the consumer's activity and collect and store a set of data regarding the consumer's activity. The end device may be further programmed to proactively offer the consumer a consumer eCare application based on the set of data and execute the consumer eCare application in accordance with the consumer's instructions. The system may create a collaborative environment between the device, other devices, and the back-end server eCare system.

Abstract: Differences are identified, at the lexical unit and/or phrase level, between time-varying corpora. A corpus for a time period of interest is compared with a reference corpus. N-grams are generated for both the corpus of interest and reference corpus. Numbers of occurrences are counted. An average number of occurrences, for each n-gram of the reference corpus, is determined. A difference value, between number of occurrences in corpus of interest and average number of occurrences, is determined. Each difference value is normalized. N-grams can be selected for display, or for further processing, on the basis of the normalized difference value. Further processing can include selecting a sample period. A plurality of reference corpora are produced, where a begin time, for each sub-corpus of the plurality of reference corpora, differs, from a begin time for the corpus of interest, by an integer multiple of the sample period. Abstract: A display input device includes a display portion, a touch panel portion, and a determination portion. The display portion displays a screen and an image, and displays a plurality of objects as images whose display positions are movable. The touch panel portion is provided for the display portion, and accepts a user's input, and detects a plurality of positions being touched. The determination portion determines whether two points being touched are in the vertical direction or the horizontal direction. The touch panel portion accepts an input of selecting, as selected objects, some or all of the objects displayed on the display portion. When the touch panel portion has detected that two-point touching has been performed thereon in the state where the objects are selected, the display portion aligns the display positions of the selected objects, based on the direction of the touched two points and movement of the touched points.

Abstract: A voltage converter can be switched among two or more modes to produce an output voltage tracking a reference voltage that can be of an intermediate level between discrete levels corresponding to the modes. One or more voltages generated from a power supply voltage, such as a battery voltage, can be compared with the reference voltage to determine whether to adjust the mode. The reference voltage can be independent of the power supply voltage.

Abstract: Techniques for developing and deploying software applications in a virtualized computing environment are described. A developer user is presented with a user interface providing options for accessing a software development project. Inputs are provided to the software development project. The inputs may include data and selection of a software component. A plurality of predefined data objects are accessed and an executable software application is generated. The application executes on virtual machine instances of the virtualized computing environment and is accessible by a plurality of end-users. The executable software application is developed within the multi-user computing and network services platform via the web-based user interface and is hosted by the multi-user computing and network services platform for use by end-users.

Abstract: A fixing device includes a fixing member, a pressure member, and a separation roller. The fixing member is configured to rotate in a first direction. The pressure member is configured to rotate in a second direction so as to allow fixing target to pass between the fixing member and the pressure member. The separation roller is configured to rotate only in the same direction as the first direction to separate the fixing target from the fixing member or to rotate only in the same direction as the second direction to separate the fixing target from the pressure member.
