The cleaning unit is arranged to face the bearing surface and removes residual toner remaining on the bearing surface. The toner rubbing portion is arranged to face the bearing surface at a side upstream of the cleaning unit in a rotating direction of the belt and charges the residual toner by rubbing the residual toner. The toner rubbing portion includes brush bristles whose tips are faced toward the bearing surface and which are charged when rubbing the residual toner. The brush bristles include first bristle-like bodies to be positively charged and second bristle-like bodies to be negatively charged. The first and second bristle-like bodies are alternately arranged in a predetermined first direction.
Abstract: A recording medium conveying mechanism includes a conveying guide, a guide member, and a rotating mechanism. Abstract: A communication apparatus includes a communication control section and an information acquiring communication control section. When the communication apparatus serving as a destination causes an error requiring repair, the destination communication apparatus determines a processing executable time from an estimated repair period indicated by a maintenance notice acquired by issuing to a maintenance system a maintenance call requesting the repair and sends back to the communication apparatus serving as a source having made a connection request temporal inexecutability information indicating that the destination communication apparatus is temporarily unable to execute a connection processing required by the connection request and containing the processing executable time when the destination communication apparatus becomes able to execute the connection processing.
Abstract: A developing roller includes a roller main body disposed to face, without contact, an outer circumferential surface of an image carrier. The roller main body includes a resin coat layer that is formed on an outer circumferential surface of a base body that is made of a metal including aluminum, the resin coat layer being made of a resin material and having electric conductivity. An AC impedance Z obtained from an application of an AC voltage at a frequency in a range from 0.05 Hz to 100 Hz is equal to or higher than 100?, and a phase angle ? satisfies a relationship of 0 rad<?<0.1 rad when a power factor is cos ?=Za/Z.

Abstract: A development device includes an imaging lens and light shielding walls. The imaging lens includes a body part having a constant diameter and both end parts arranged at both ends in an optical axial direction having diameters larger than the body part to capture a reflected light from a document onto an imaging part. The light shielding walls has a space with an interval larger than the diameter of the body part and smaller than the diameters of the both end parts, allowing the body part of the imaging lens to be arranged in the space, and shielding a light in the optical axial direction.
Abstract: The operation decision unit decides whether a user operation exists or not on the electronic apparatus when a user instructing a job did not log out from the apparatus after the end of the job. The terminal device decision unit decides whether the user operation exists or not on the user terminal device when it is decided that the user operation does not exists on the electronic apparatus. The authentication unit makes the user log out from the electronic apparatus when it is decided that the user operation exists on the user terminal device.
Abstract: An exemplary exhaust testing apparatus includes a housing defining an exhaust flow path extending from an inlet to an outlet. At least a portion of the housing is selectably rotatable relative to an exhaust aftertreatment system. An arm extends from the housing into the exhaust flow path. An exhaust probe configured to measure an exhaust constituent is coupled with the arm and positioned at a location in the exhaust flow path. An actuator is configured to extend and retract the arm to vary the location of the exhaust probe in the exhaust flow path. The exhaust probe is moveable to a plurality of locations within the exhaust flow path through a combination of rotation of the housing and extension and retraction of the arm.

Abstract: A fluid-fillable barrier which includes a flexible, tubular, impermeable membrane and at least two internal tension members. The membrane has opposite ends, a middle, fluid-fillable section, an upper attachment area, and a lower attachment area. The tension members secure between, and extend from, the upper attachment area to the lower attachment area. The tension members have a length which is less than one-half the perimeter of the membrane, the length and perimeter being measured at a common cross-section, taken perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the membrane. One of the tension members is longer than the other, so that it is in a relaxed, limp state under normal operating conditions. The tension members are thermally bonded to, and sewn with a double sew line to, the attachment areas. The barrier further includes lifting loops at each end, connection cleats on the sides and ends, and venting/drainage standpipes.
Abstract: Provided is a Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) apparatus that provides an adequate display according to a positional relation between a user and an image forming apparatus. A CPU of the PDA apparatus acquires positional information of the image forming apparatus and calculates a distance between the PDA apparatus and the image forming apparatus based on the acquired positional information and positional information of the PDA apparatus. Then, the CPU determines whether the calculated distance is equal to or greater than a threshold. If the determination is Yes, the CPU displays an outline of an abnormal status of the image forming apparatus in text on a display panel. If the determination is No, CPU displays how to solve the abnormal status in the display panel.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for controlling access to a logic circuit in a battery by one or more components connected to the battery includes the components initially providing no voltage to a data contact, and sampling a voltage level at the data contact to determine if another component is presently connected to the logic circuit. When the sampled voltage indicates no other component is presently accessing the logic circuit, the component applies a voltage to the logic circuit via the data contact and access the logic circuit. When the sampled voltage indicates that a prior-connected component is connected to the battery, the component uses a voltage level provided by the prior-connected component to access the logic circuit.
Abstract: Provided is an image forming apparatus made to shorten time of a first copy (first page copy of a manuscript.) In the image forming apparatus, primary feeding (feeding from a sheet paper cassette to a resist position roller) and secondary feeding (feeding from a resist position roller) are performed continuously. When a first copy is performed, based on warm-up information, print engine, such as a feed roller, a transfer part, a fixing part, and an ejection roller, is set up. Paper will be fed when the setup is completed. The setup of print engine that performs operation required for printing is performed before feeding by using the warm-up information. Therefore, the time of the first copy is shortened.
