Abstract: A developing device has a developing container, a developer carrier, and a restricting member. The restricting member restricts the layer thickness of developer on the surface of the developer carrier. The restricting member includes a restricting base formed of resin with higher strength than the developing container and a metal foil arranged at a tip part of the restricting base. The metal foil has a downstream face portion fixed to a downstream-side face of the restricting base and a restricting face portion formed by bending the tip of the downstream face portion to an upstream side and arranged to face the developer carrier.

Abstract: A solid-state mass storage device for use with host computer systems, and methods of increasing the endurance of non-volatile memory components thereof that define a first non-volatile memory space. The mass storage device further has a second non-volatile memory space containing at least one non-volatile memory component having a higher write endurance than the memory components of the first non-volatile memory space. The second non-volatile memory space functions as a low-pass filter for host writes to the first non-volatile memory space to minimize read accesses to the first non-volatile memory space. Contents of the second non-volatile memory space are managed using a change counter.

Abstract: A fixing device includes a fixing member, a pressure member, and a guiding member. The guiding member includes a first guide surface, a second guide surface, and a pair of third guide surfaces consecutively installing both end portions in the axial direction of the first guide surface and both end portions in the axial direction of the second guide surface. The first end edge of the first guide surface has a first circular arc shape arranged such that a center portion in the axial direction projects toward the downstream side in the rotation direction with respect to both end portions in the axial direction. The second guide surface is one of a curved surface in a second circular arc shape arranged such that a center portion in the axial direction is close to the first circumference surface with respect to both end portions in the axial direction.

Abstract: A method for generating and using a workout file, comprising recording workout data and notes while performing an athletic workout, attaching trigger conditions to the notes, and exporting the workout data, the notes, and the attached trigger conditions as the workout file, where the exported workout file is configured to be used by a subsequent user to repeat the athletic workout in a manner that plays the notes when the subsequent user performs the trigger conditions.

Abstract: A tool assembly for forming a workpiece into a housing with a non-round design outer profile at least partially defined by an outer surface at a design position reduced from the initial position thereof. The tool assembly includes a ring portion having a bore therein at least partially defined by an inner surface, and an insert portion with a back plate and a number of elongate jaw segments, each jaw segment having between a back end thereof engaged with the back plate. When the insert portion is moved from an open condition to a closed condition, the inner surface of the ring portion urges the jaw segments inwardly, causing the jaw segments to engage substantially the entire outer surface and to move the outer surface from an initial position to the design position, reducing an initial outer profile to the design outer profile and forming the workpiece into the housing.

Abstract: Implementations of radio frequency switch controllers within the scope of the appended claims are configured to reduce the impact of the clock signal induced spurs. In particular, implementations of switch controllers described herein include a poly-phase clocking scheme, as opposed to a single phase to clock the charge pump stages of an negative voltage generator. In some implementations poly-phase clocking schemes reduce the clock signal induced spurs and may preclude the need for additional on-chip or off-chip decoupling capacitors that add to the cost and physical size of a complete front end module solution.

Abstract: Provided are plant hormone-based growth-enhancing compositions, which comprise at least one auxin, at least one cytokinin, and at least one polyaspartic acid, and which optionally comprise at least one seaweed concentrate and at least one surfactant. Also provided are methods of propagating grass plants, including those of family Poaceae, such as the sterile grass plant Arundo donax, by treating the mature or immature stems of these plants with growth-enhancing compositions to stimulate the development of roots and shoots from meristematic tissues.

The disclosure is further directed toward a method of using a packer incorporating a jet port, a highly debossed mandrel and/or a J-pin rotatably disposed within a drag block assembly for continuously and redundantly engaging a J-slot area disposed in the mandrel.

Abstract: A ring-shaped biodegradable shower drain weep holes gasket is disclosed that slips over the top of the shower drain. The gasket fits tightly over the top of the drain to solve the problem of material clogging the shower drain weep holes and additionally preventing any deck mud or debris from entering and clogging the weep holes during installation. Approximately ?ths inch high by 5/2ths inch wide at an inner diameter of 31/5ths inch, the biodegradable shower gasket then surrounds the shower drain's top flange and weep holes. Over a short period of time, the moisture in the cement along with any moisture that seeps through the tile or grout will dissolve the biodegradable gasket creating a permanent opening for water to drain out through the weep holes.

Abstract: A manual sheet feeder that is an example of a sheet conveying device includes a roller unit in which a rubber roller is mounted on a support member. A separation wall is formed in an internal space of the support member, and a rotation shaft is formed at the separation wall. A slide shaft is provided such that a coil spring is interposed between the rotation shaft and the slide shaft in a compressed state. Movement of the slide shaft from an opening outward in an axial direction is restricted by an elastic engagement piece of a movement restriction mechanism. The elastic engagement piece is formed at a spring holding portion of the slide shaft. In a state where the coil spring is stored in the spring holding portion, a back surface of the elastic engagement piece is supported by the coil spring.

Abstract: Vascular dilator systems, kits, and methods allowing for sheathless introduction of a treatment device into a body vessel or body cavity are disclosed. A vascular dilator system can include a dilator assembly, including a tubular shaft and a deformable member, and optionally, the treatment device. The deformable member can include a non-biodegradable material and can have a diameter at a proximal end portion that is greater than a diameter at a distal end portion. The distal end portion of the deformable member can be coupled to an outer surface of the tubular shaft, at or near a shaft distal end portion. The proximal end portion of the deformable member can include a diameter configured to receive or stretch around a distal end portion of the treatment device. In use, the deformable member can provide a tapered bridge between the outer surface of the tubular shaft and an outer surface of the treatment device.

Information identifying a device connected to a customer premise equipment device can be retrieved and compared to historical information identifying one or more devices previously connected to the customer premise equipment device. The customer premise equipment device can be classified as a device suspected of fraudulent use when the current information identifying a device connected to the customer premise equipment device is different than the historical information identifying the one or more devices previously connected to the customer premise equipment device.

Abstract: A dynamic diagnostic plan generator arranges diagnostic test procedures related to a vehicle/power tool/patient symptom or operational problem in a sequence based on a probabilistic Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA). The diagnostic plan generator also tracks a vehicle/power tool/patient state, and provides instructions for test preparation steps and instructions for performing the diagnostic test procedures. The plan generator further generates schematic illustrations of the diagnostic test procedures, and creates a diagnostic data structure containing information related to the diagnostic test procedures. In addition, the diagnostic plan generator sends and receives information regarding actual failure mode occurrences, for example, to and from a central database. Furthermore, the diagnostic plan generator facilitates the creation of failure mode tests by an expert diagnostics author.

In one example, a medical device can include a body member and an expandable element. The body member can extend along a longitudinal axis of the medical device and at least partially define a lumen. The body member can include at least one opening disposed in fluid communication with the lumen. The expandable element can include at least two radiographic markers and can be movable between at least a first configuration and a second configuration. The at least two radiographic markers can be disposed within the lumen when the expandable element is in the first configuration. The at least two radiographic members can be disposed outside of the lumen and can be radially offset from the longitudinal axis when the expandable element is in the second configuration.

The illumination control unit is configured to control light-emitting operations of the first light source and the second light source corresponding to the reading mode.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus performs image formation of a target image with the use of a first color gamut as a standard color gamut for image formation. The image forming apparatus includes a storage section, a color conversion section, and an image forming section. The storage section stores a color expansion table indicating a second color gamut wider than the first color gamut. The color conversion section converts, when a color in the target image is present outside the first color gamut, a color value of the color in the target image to a color value of a coloring material used for image formation on the basis of the color expansion table. The image forming section performs image formation of the target image on the basis of the color value of the coloring material.

Abstract: A system and method is provided for enabling a user to add and view resource content within a calendar. The method includes displaying in a user interface both a calendar view and a resources view. A user is able to drag a representation of a resource from the resources view to the calendar view. In response to the user dragging the representation of a resource to the calendar view, a link to the resource is added to a calendar event in the calendar view. The user is then able to open the resource from the calendar event.

Abstract: Acyclic nucleoside analogs such as acyclovir, ganciclovir, penciclovir and the corresponding pro-drugs, i.e., valacyclovir, valganciclovir and famciclovir, respectively have been identified as inhibitors or antagonists of both telomerase (encoded by TERT) and reverse transcriptase encoded by L-1 (LINE-1) RT, and as useful for treating or preventing cancers induced or mediated by the two enzymes. Method of treating or preventing such cancers in patients involves administration of a therapeutically effective amount of a composition having an inhibitor or antagonist of the reverse transcriptases in cells of the patients. The inhibitor or antagonist blocks lengthening of telomeres in telomerase positive and telomerase negative cells. Methods and kits for detecting pathologically proliferating cells expressing TERT and L1RT are also disclosed.
