  • Patent number: 9083834
Abstract: The information processing apparatus includes first authentication portion, human body detecting portion, de-authentication portion, and second authentication portion. The first authentication portion shifts the state of the information processing apparatus to a login state in accordance with a predetermined first login operation. The human body detecting portion detects a human body within a predetermined range from the information processing apparatus. The de-authentication portion cancels the login state when a human body is not detected by the human body detecting portion during the login state. The second authentication portion shifts the state of the information processing apparatus to the login state in accordance with a second login operation involving less operation steps than the first login operation after the login state is canceled by the de-authentication portion.

  • Patent number: 9078963
Abstract: Some embodiments an infusion pump system can be used to determine a user's total insulin load (TIL) that provides an accurate indication of the insulin previously delivered to the user's body which has not yet acted. In particular embodiments, the TIL can account for both the bolus deliveries and the basal deliveries that have occurred over a period of time. Such information may be useful, for example, when the infusion pump is operated in conjunction with a continuous glucose monitoring device.

  • Publication number: 20150193719
Abstract: Systems and methods of performing comparisons of client data and benchmark data are described. When client data is compared to internal benchmark data, comparative result values may be computed by performing a multidimensional operation with respect to client data for a particular dimension member and client data for additional dimension members that are related to the particular dimension member. When client data is compared to external benchmark data, a client result value may be computed based on a multidimensional operation and a benchmark result value may be determined based on a mapping of client dimension members to benchmark dimension members. The result values may be provided by a server to a client, which may generate a graphical user interface (GUI) based on the result values.

  • Patent number: 9075379
Abstract: A decurler device corrects a curl of a sheet. The decurler device includes a first roller, a second roller and a support unit. The first roller rotates about a first rotational shaft as an axial center. Further, the first roller is elastically deformable. The second roller rotates about a second rotational shaft in parallel with the first rotational shaft as an axial center. Further, the second roller is pressed by the first roller to elastically deform the first roller, thereby forming a curved nip portion between itself and the first roller. The second roller rotates to convey a sheet. The support unit rotatably supports the first and second rollers. Further, the support unit is rotatable about a third rotational shaft in parallel with the first rotational shaft as an axial center. The support unit rotates when a sheet is conveyed with it nipped by the nip portion.

  • Patent number: 9075799
Abstract: To the standard inverted index database, a new “To” operator is added. The “To” operator treats the standard single-level linear collection of records as being organized into localized clusters. Techniques for hierarchical clusters are presented. During indexing, hierarchical clusters are serialized according to a uniform visitation procedure. Serialization produces bit maps, one for each hierarchical level, that preserve the hierarchical level of each record and its location in the serialization sequence. Also presented are techniques, when searching for an Object-of-Interest, for greatly improving the process by which Exclude Terms are identified. Exclude Terms are particularly useful when the lexical units, representing an Object-of-Interest, are ambiguous. When in the mode of searching for Exclude Terms, the Object-of-Interest can match anywhere in a snippet, rather than just in the focus sentence.

  • Patent number: 9075361
Abstract: A fixing device includes: a heat source, a heating member, a pressure member, a heat absorption unit, a holding member, and an end part supporting member. The heat source generates infrared rays. The heat absorption unit is formed on an inner circumferential surface of the heating member, absorbs radiation heat of the heat source, and opposes an outer circumferential part of the holding member with a gap. The holding member has a hollow and cylindrical shape, and arranged between the heat source and the inner circumferential surface of the heat member, permits transmission of infrared rays and has heat resistance. The end part supporting member supports the holding member at both axial end parts of the heating member. The outer circumferential part of the holding member, the inner circumferential surface of the heating member, and the end part supporting member form a sealing space sealing the heat absorption unit.

  • Patent number: 9072922
Abstract: Disclosed is a safety ladder for protecting a lineman or firefighter from a flash fire. The ladder has the appearance of a conventional ladder but includes interlocking plates positioned in between the rungs along the rails. Attached to the plates are fluid conduits that allow for the dispensing of a hydrated super absorbent polymer having superior fire suppression to be sprayed over an individual using the ladder should a fire erupt. The mounting plates have spray nozzles attached to the conduit located along the rails of the ladder so as to not infer with normal use of the ladder. A pressurized container of hydrated super absorbent polymer is coupled to the ladder. The hydrated super absorbent polymer is discharged through a solenoid valve which can be operated by the individual using the ladder with a button attached to the ladder or activated by a heat sensor attached to the ladder.
