Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes an ejection stacking section, a cooling target unit, and a cooling fan. The cooling target unit is disposed below the ejection stacking section. The cooling fan sends air to flow between the cooling target unit and the ejection stacking section. The ejection stacking section includes an opening, a movable member, and a biasing member. The movable member is movable between a closed position and an open position. The biasing member biases the movable member toward the closed position. In response to that the recording mediums are stacked on the ejection stacking section, the movable member moves toward the open position against a biasing force of the biasing member to allow the air sent from the cooling fan to flow through the opening so as to cool a lower surface of the recording mediums stacked on the ejection stacking section.
Abstract: The optical scanning device includes a photoreceptor, a light source unit, a plurality of correction value storage units and a light quantity correction unit. The scanning position in the photoreceptor is divided into a plurality of areas. The target correction amount of the light quantity is predetermined so as to change according to the scanning position. The correction value storage unit stores the light quantity correction value that is associated with each of the areas. The light quantity correction unit corrects the light quantity during scanning by using the light quantity correction value corresponding to the scanning position. The length of each of the areas is shorter in an area in which the variation in the target correction amount per unit length is greater. The light quantity correction value is determined based on the target correction amount according to the area corresponding to the light quantity correction value.
Abstract: A driving device includes a motor, a pulley, a metal belt, a first unit, a second unit, a biasing member and a detector. The motor includes a drive shaft. The pulley includes an output shaft extending in parallel to the drive shaft. The pulley is rotatably supported on the first unit with the output shaft as a rotary shaft and the circumferential surface is arranged at a distance from the drive shaft in a radial direction of the rotation. The second unit supports the motor and is slidable relative to the first unit. The biasing member biases the second unit in a direction to move the drive shaft away from the output shaft in a state where the metal belt is mounted between the drive shaft and the pulley. The detector detects a change in an inter-axial distance between the drive shaft and the output shaft.
Abstract: A refrigerant recovery unit is provided and includes a safe purging mode. The safe purging mode allows non-condensable gases to be incrementally purged from a storage tank when the determined ideal vapor pressure is high, such as 40 p.s.i., in order to minimize refrigerant loss during purging. The purging can be done in small increments of time, pressure or mass. The storage tank can include a dip tube that extends into the liquid portion of the refrigerant in order to heat up the refrigerant in the tank with the heated recovered refrigerant.

Abstract: An apparatus and method are developed to improve accuracy of diagnostic tests for A/C systems. In particular, a refrigerant recovery unit may have its hoses pre-charged with a refrigerant to a predetermined pressure or amount before performing the diagnostic tests on the A/C system of the vehicle. For example, a predetermine amount of refrigerant may be injected into the hoses of the refrigerant recovery unit to pre-charge them. The pre-charged hoses of the refrigerant recovery unit may prevent a refrigerant flow from the A/C system to the hoses connected thereto before the diagnostic tests are implemented and thus, improve the accuracy of the diagnostic tests.
Abstract: The present disclosure provides drilling and tripping equipment packages and control schemes and methods using two or more lifting systems that operate simultaneously and continuously in a synchronized manner such that the feeding of tubular into or out of a well bore is achieved with continuous or near continuous movement, without the need for periodic interruptions. The drilling and tripping equipment packages and control schemes are also able to rotate the tubular in the well bore with continuous speed and torque sufficient for both drilling and back-reaming operations. The drilling and tripping equipment package and control scheme is additionally able to circulate drilling fluid into the internal bore of the tubular with sufficient pressure and flow to facilitate both drilling and back-reaming operations, with minimal interruption to circulation.

Abstract: A developing device includes a developer housing which includes a container mounting portion and a toner supply opening, a developer shutter plate which is so held on the developer housing as to be movable in a direction parallel to a developing roller and is displaceable to a closing position for closing the toner supply opening and an opening position, and a biasing spring which biases the developer shutter plate to the closing position. The container main body includes a first pressing plate and the developer shutter plate includes an oblique elongated projection with which the first pressing plate comes into contact. The first pressing plate and the oblique elongated projection are formed to displace the developer shutter plate from the closing position to the opening position against a biasing force of the biasing spring as the toner container moves in an assembling direction in a mounting process.
Abstract: A unit retraction device has a hook member which engages with an engaged portion provided on a unit, and a retraction force generating mechanism which exerts a retraction force on the unit. The retraction force generating mechanism includes a first rotary member which is rotatably disposed on a first rotation pivot and to a rotating end part of which the hook member is coupled, a biasing member of which one end is hooked to the first rotary member and which biases the first rotary member in such a direction that the hook member retracts the unit into the apparatus body, and a second rotary member to which another end of the biasing member is hooked and which is rotatably disposed on a second rotation pivot. The second rotary member rotates in the same direction as the first rotary member as the latter is rotated by the biasing member.

The opening/closing member turns integrally with a supporting shaft around the supporting shaft. The opening/closing detecting device detects an opening/closing state of the opening/closing member. The operating member turns integrally with the supporting shaft so as to interlock with turning of the opening/closing member. The operating member includes a pressing part having an external circumference face around the supporting shaft and a relief part having an external circumference face inside a rotation locus of the pressing part.

Abstract: The print pattern forming unit forms plural comparative print patterns on a sheet by reference print patterns corresponding to every sheet feed cassette associated with different reference positions for every sheet feed cassette. The displacement amount calculation unit reads the comparative print patterns on the sheet, and calculates displacement amounts between the reference positions and comparative positions of the read comparative print patterns corresponding to the reference positions. The correction unit corrects the print position of the sheet conveyed from the sheet feed cassette based on the displacement amount for every sheet feed cassette.
Abstract: A method for ensuring integrity of data includes receiving data from a clinical source, assembling the data into a first data stream, generating a first hash number by applying a hashing algorithm to the first data stream, transmitting the first data stream to a data provider, and transmitting the first hash number to a data checker. The data provider provides to the data checker a second data stream and the data checker generates a second hash number based on the second data stream and compares the first hash number to the second hash number. A system for ensuring integrity of data is also described and claimed.
Abstract: An image reading apparatus includes an imaging unit and a noise detecting unit. The imaging unit includes a valid pixel group constituted of imaging elements arranged in one row in a main-scanning direction valid for reading a document image and dummy pixel groups constituted of imaging elements arranged on both sides of the valid pixel group invalid for reading the document image. The imaging unit reads each line of the document image while moving relatively to a sub-scanning direction. The noise detecting unit detects a noise mixing into the line read by the imaging unit based on an image signal captured by the dummy pixel group. The dummy pixel group receives a predetermined luminescence level of light. The noise detecting unit detects the noise mixing into the line when a pixel value output from the dummy pixel group varies to exceed a predetermined value.
Abstract: Provided is a responding apparatus that performs a network response in the standby mode and is not required much time for transitioning to the standby mode. The responding apparatus receives information request data from a network and transmits response data corresponding to the information request data to network, in the normal mode and standby mode. A normal mode response data making part makes response data in the normal mode. A recursive response request part recursively transmits information request data that requires information of other response data to the normal mode response data making part in the normal mode. An information storing part accumulates the information of the other response data corresponding to the information request data. A standby mode response data making part makes response data from information accumulated by information storing part in the standby mode.
