  • Patent number: 10560403
Abstract: Various aspects relate to using structured messages within systems that implement instant messaging function in a distributed computing environment. In particular, structured information may be encoded and embedded in unstructured instant messages and communicated among one or more computer systems, networks, applications or other entities. In one aspect, instant messaging may be leveraged as middleware for application integration. Other aspects relate to using structured message information to perform functions in a distributed instant messaging system. For example, structured message information may be used to control the display of instant message information to a user, or may be used to control how the instant message information is distributed, processed, or otherwise handled by a receiving system, application or process. Other aspects relate to an interface for displaying information relating to a number of instant messaging conversations to a user.

  • Patent number: 10557392
Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, an emission control system that includes an emission control device having a plurality of passages to facilitate emission control of an exhaust gas from a vehicle engine. A controller determines a resonant frequency of a coil and generates a control signal to control induction heating of the emission control device based on the resonant frequency of the coil. An alternating current (AC) source responds to the control signal by selectively generating a power signal to the coil to facilitate the induction heating of the emission control device via the coil.

  • Patent number: 10558158
Abstract: An inkjet recording apparatus includes an image forming section, a heater, a calculation section, storage, and a determination section. The image forming section ejects ink onto a sheet in which first to M-th regions are defined (M is an integer of at least 2). The heater includes first to M-th heat sources and heats an n-th region of the sheet using an n-th heat source (n is an integer of at least 1 and no greater than M). The calculation section calculates an ink ejection rate of ink to be ejected onto the n-th region. The storage stores therein heating information indicating whether it is necessary to heat the n-th region. The determination section determines whether or not to cause the n-th heat source to generate heat.

  • Patent number: 10560602
Abstract: A system and method provide an improvement to publications with gutter creep that shifts page content to the edges of pages. In an exemplary embodiment, a process may be triggered which determines a printable page area for pages of each respective sheet that will be printed on, based on the sheet gutter value for the page. A scaling factor may be applied to the printable page area to produce a scaled printable area. The printed content may be scaled within the printable area by the scaling factor so that when the gutter creep value becomes larger and there is less printable area available, the content remains readable on the page. A user interface may include a manual creep shift button to shift positioned scaled printed content toward or away from a sheet fold axis.
