  • Patent number: 9628215
Abstract: A method includes receiving, at a user equipment, a signal including cell-specific reference signals from a number of cells. Cell-specific reference signal(s) are measured from one of the cells to determine measured result(s). The user equipment, based on the measured result(s) meeting first criteria, performs interference cancelation to cancel the cell-specific reference signal(s) corresponding to the one cell from the signal. The user equipment performs the measuring and the performing the interference cancelation for additional ones of the cells until second criteria are met. The user equipment uses measured cell-specific reference signals having their interference canceled to reduce an effect of interference from corresponding cells on communications between the user equipment and a base station. A base station may store cell search information that can be sent to the user equipment to help the user equipment perform the previous method.

  • Patent number: 9625628
Abstract: An optical filter is disclosed including two laterally variable bandpass filters stacked at a fixed distance from each other, so that the upstream filter functions as a spatial filter for the downstream filter. This happens because an oblique beam transmitted by the upstream filter is displaced laterally when impinging on the downstream filter. The lateral displacement causes a suppression of the oblique beam when transmission passbands at impinging locations of the oblique beam onto the upstream and downstream filters do not overlap.

  • Patent number: 9622714
Abstract: A system and method are disclosed for obtaining pointing directions for every channel of a collimator which can then be used during the image reconstruction process to more accurately estimate the direction from which radiation has been received. The disclosed system and method provide for photographic measurement and analysis of individual collimator channel to determine the pointing directions for every channel in the collimator. This information is obtained by photographing the front and back sides of the collimator, and analyzing the digital image data to obtain the pointing angle of each channel. The resulting information, referred to as a “vector map” is included in the firmware of the collimator so that it can be called on during the projection and back-projection steps of the algorithm.

  • Patent number: 9625183
Abstract: A system and method for a CO2 refrigeration system includes a compressor, a heat exchanger, a liquid receiver, a first valve, and a valve controller. The heat exchanger operates as a gas cooler when the CO2 refrigeration system is in a transcritical mode and as a condenser when the CO2 refrigeration system is in the subcritical mode. The first valve controls a flow of refrigerant from the heat exchanger to the liquid receiver. The valve controller monitors an outdoor ambient temperature and a pressure of refrigerant exiting the heat exchanger, determines whether the CO2 refrigeration system is in the subcritical mode or in the transcritical mode, determines a pressure setpoint based on the monitored outdoor ambient temperature, and controls the first valve based on a comparison of the determined pressure setpoint and the monitored pressure when the CO2 refrigeration system is in the transcritical mode.

  • Patent number: 9628653
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes: a facsimile portion that transmits and receives data through a telephone line with an outside; a power supply portion that supplies power to the facsimile portion; and a power-saving control portion that is connected to a communication line other than the telephone line and that controls a power supply mode of the power supply portion. When the power supply mode is an off mode, the power supply portion stops the supply of power to the facsimile portion. When a connection state determination portion determines that the connection to the telephone line is disconnected, the power-saving control portion controls a transfer to the off mode based on whether or not a notification of information for making a determination on the transfer to the off mode is provided from an information output device connected to the image forming apparatus through the communication line.
