Abstract: Provided is an image forming apparatus performing automatic recovery from a paper non-feeding jam. It includes plural paper feeding cassettes, a sensing sensor, paper non-feeding jam determining part, and system control part. Plural paper feeding cassettes are detachably loaded inside apparatus main body. Sensing sensor is disposed in a carrying passage, and senses a paper sheet fed from paper feeding cassette. Paper non-feeding jam determining part determines whether or not a paper non-feeding jam has occurred in paper feeding cassette, on apparatus operation state and result of sensing by sensing sensor, and if a paper non-feeding jam has occurred, releases error state for paper non-feeding jam after a prescribed time period has elapsed, notifying that paper feeding is to be changed over. System control part controls changeover of paper feeding to that from another paper feeding cassette, on notification from paper non-feeding jam determining part.

The shell layers have a hardness of at least 1 N/m2 and less than 3 N/m2. The shell layers have a thickness of no greater than 20 nm. The toner particles have a roundness of at least 0.965 and less than 0.975.
Abstract: Systems, methods and a mobile device for using policy defined by the operator to control the interfaces on which data is sent and received by the device are provided. The policy can be dynamically updated by the operator, by pushing new policy to the device for implementation. The policy can define that the device should switch certain data between two or more available interfaces at certain times, or when certain data may be sent or received over a particular interface. The device may receive new policy from the operator in order to help with the operator's own operational objectives, such as traffic shaping or other traffic limitation to ease congestion or enforce service agreements. A policy implementing corresponding traffic limitation or shaping on the air interface between the mobile device and network base stations can be sent to the mobile device so as to reduce signaling congestion on the air-interface.

Abstract: A method for geo-location of a wireless communication unit (410) is provided. The communication unit (410) communicates with a wireless communication network (430) of a wireless communication system (400). A probability density function is derived for the location of the wireless communication unit (410), from measured information and/or information about the wireless communication network (430). The probability density function is sampled to provide spatial and probability information about each of at least two possible locations for the wireless communication unit (410). A wireless communication system (400) and a method of selecting enhancements to a wireless communication system (400) are also provided.
Abstract: An image processing system includes a vote adding portion, a vote reception portion, a vote determination portion, and a default registration portion. The vote adding portion adds a vote key indicating whether image data is good or bad, to the image data. The vote reception portion displays, of the vote key, a goodness key indicating that the image data is good, in a selectable manner, and receives selection of the goodness key. The vote determination portion counts the number of votes to the goodness key and determines whether or not the counted number of votes to the goodness key is equal to or greater than a predetermined threshold value. When the number of votes is equal to or greater than the threshold value, the default registration portion automatically registers a setting condition for the image reading of the transmitted image data as an initial setting condition.

Abstract: A fixing device includes a heating roller, a non-contact temperature sensor, a first air channel, and a second air channel. The non-contact temperature sensor detects a temperature of the heating roller in a non-contact manner. The first air channel is located between the non-contact temperature sensor and the heating roller. The second air channel is located at a side of the non-contact temperature sensor that is farther from the heating roller. An air velocity in the first air channel is greater than an air velocity in the second air channel.
Abstract: On-screen display techniques and configurations for audiovisual content input selection and indications in a television, monitor, receiver, or other electronic display device are described herein. An on-screen user interface of a display device may be enhanced with on-screen indications that indicate the position of the respective audiovisual content. For example, a user interface may provide an arrow in the lower-left portion of the screen to correspond to audiovisual input obtained from a device connected to the lower-left portion of the display device housing. A listing of input sources arranged by position relative to the display device and appropriate previews of the audiovisual content from the sources may also be incorporated into the user interface. In further examples, determined labels and human-readable identifiers for the respective input sources may be coordinated with the listing of input sources arranged by position.
Abstract: Spatial relationships are conveyed in multi-planar reconstruction (MPR). A 3D MPR display indicates relative position of MPR imaging planes to each other and/or anatomy at a given time. To better assist user understanding of the location of the MPR planes relative to each other and/or anatomy in transitioning to different relative locations, the transition is animated. The shift in planar position occurs gradually in the 3D MPR display despite user indication of a jump to another arrangement.

Abstract: An apparatus, a system and a method positions a cable extending from an alarm system through a housing to face the cable toward the rear of an electronic device to which the cable is attached. The housing has a sensor assembly that holds a light visible through the sensor assembly to denote an alarm condition. A sensor associated with the sensor assembly connects to a corresponding sensor port in the electronic device. A joint attached to the sensor assembly rotates to position the cable. Detachment of the sensor from the port in the electronic device disrupts a circuit formed between the alarm system, the cable and the electronic device to activate the alarm condition.
