  • Patent number: 11836135
Abstract: Roughly described, a database accelerator is installed in a network having client systems which makes database queries to a particular IP address and port, and database servers which accept queries received at an IP address and port. The accelerator includes a cache, and is arranged to receive, through a network port, a database query made by a client system and directed to the particular IP address and port, return response data from the cache if available there, and if not, then forward the query through a network port to the database servers. Upon receipt of response data from the servers, the accelerator can retain it in its cache in addition to forwarding it back to the client. By installing the accelerator transparently in the network, no changes are required to either the client or server software in order to add query caching functionality to an existing client/server database arrangement.

  • Patent number: 11833762
Abstract: Direct ink write (DIW) printing of reactive resins presents a unique challenge due to the time-dependent nature of the rheological and chemical properties of the ink. As a result, careful print optimization or process control is important to obtain consistent, high quality prints. The present invention uses a flow-through characterization cell for in situ chemical monitoring of a resin ink during DIW printing. Additionally, in-line extrusion force monitoring can be combined with off-line post inspection using machine vision. By combining in-line spectroscopy and force monitoring, it is possible to follow reaction kinetics (for example, curing of a reactive resin) and viscosity changes during printing, which can be used for a closed-loop process control. Additionally, the capability of machine vision to automatically identify and quantify print artifacts can be incorporated on the printing line to enable real-time, AI-assisted quality control of the printed products.

  • Patent number: 11834349
Abstract: A buoyant apparatus that is capable of floating on liquid surfaces, such as bodies of water filled with waste byproducts. The buoyant apparatus supports a plurality of atomizers via rotatable and flexible arms that can achieve 180° adjustments with the respect to a longitudinal axis of the buoyant apparatus, such that the arms can be parallel to a surface of the body of water in both an extended orientation (with the atomizers deployed over the water surface) and a retracted orientation (with the atomizers stored within the surface area of the platform). In addition, the arms can achieve 360° rotational adjustments about the attachment point of the arms to the platform. The atomizers and arms are powered by low voltage direct current (DC) motors that can utilize solar power via photovoltaic cells such that the apparatus can be employed in remote locations without the need for a centralized power grid.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide systems, methods, and computer-readable storage media that support activity recognition using image or video processing (e.g., computer vision) and machine learning. To illustrate, a monitoring device may receive video data from a camera configured to capture video of a scene that includes a pipe of an oil rig. The monitoring device may perform motion detection on the video data to identify frames of the video data depicting motion. The identified frames may be provided to one or more machine learning models that are configured to determine whether the pipe is moving based on input video clips. The one or more machine learning models may be trained using labeled video clips that depict movement of the pipe or lack thereof. The monitoring device may generate an output based on the determination, the output indicating a slip to slip time associated with the pipe.
