Abstract: A paper-based package that can be manufactured using existing blister pack packaging equipment is provided. The package components comprise a face card and a tray blank that can be shipped flat and loaded easily into existing blister package equipment. The package may be formed in the machine just prior to the filling operation, and a paper-to-paper seal may be achieved in the same fashion as in a traditional plastic blister face card seal. Fold lines are formed in the tray blank by ablation.
Abstract: A fold open face seal package is provided. The package may comprise a one or two-piece thermoformed blister adhered to a backing card. In the one piece embodiment upper and lower portions of the blister are connected by one or more hinges. In the two-piece embodiment the blister is cut into upper and lower pieces which are adhered to the backing card. The package may be opened by folding the backing card back along a bend line and then reclosed for later use.
Abstract: A hollow cylindrical tube having an outer surface coated with one or more inks is provided, each ink encapsulated in capsules that rupture under one or more specific loading conditions to display a visually perceptible color. The tube may be used to determine the load capabilities of the tube, to optimize the tube construction and to determine load magnitudes of windable materials and/or the winding process.
Abstract: A two piece thermoformed container comprising a tray and a lid for holding a product or products is provided. The container is portable, recloseable and provides easy access to the contents. The tray includes a front wall, rear wall and opposing side walls. The lid is moveable in a sliding fashion between a fully closed position in which the lid is substantially aligned with the tray and an opened position in which the contents of the tray are accessible. The tray has a flat top wall that can be sealed with flexible film.
Abstract: A clamshell package that includes a first storage section with a first flange, a second storage section with a second flange, and a base section with first and second ends, and first and second sides. The first end includes a third flange and the second end includes a fourth flange. The first side is pivotably attached to the first storage section to enable the first storage section to pivot from an open to a closed position. When the first storage section is in the closed position, the first flange may securely connect to the second, third, and/or fourth flanges. The second side is pivotably attached to the second storage section to enable the second storage section to pivot from an open to a closed position. When the second storage section is in the closed position the second flange may securely connect to the first, third, and/or fourth flanges.
Abstract: A thermally insulated pallet shipper is provided for use in any industry where temperature sensitive products are shipped, including the pharmaceutical, hospital and food industries, particularly for shipping payloads by air. The pallet shipper is made from just four individual foam molded structures: a base, a first corner structure, a second corner structure and a lid.
Abstract: A container for holding a product such as snack food, wherein the container is transformable from a cylindrical shape to a bowl shape adapted to hold and provide easy access to the product.

Abstract: A display hutch is provided that can be made from three components adhered together to form a flat compact structure suitable for shipping. The compact structure can be positioned upright and converted into the display hutch by pushing down on support halves or by rotating inwardly side shelf panels and front shelf panels.
Abstract: A multiple shelf display hutch is provided that can be made from a single die cut blank. The blank comprises three or more vertical panels separated by vertical fold lines, the number of vertical panels equaling the number of sides of the hutch. The hutch may have three sides, four sides, six sides or any suitable number of sides. The layers/shelves may be vertically arranged so that their sides align vertically or may be offset from each other (rotated horizontally with respect to each other) in what may be referred to as “twisted” configuration.
Abstract: A mounting plate for holding a roll of wound material. The mounting plate comprises a body, a hub extending from the body for holding a core, and one or more spacers affixed to the body and extending beyond the body in the direction of the roll. Each spacer comprises an inner member which may contact the roll and one or more resiliently deformable legs extending outwardly from the inner member. The spacers can maintain contact with the ends of the roll and prevent the roll from being damaged due to telescoping or impacts with the mounting plates or other structures.
Abstract: A method of making a thermally insulated sandwich polyurethane (PUR) shipper for a temperature sensitive payload is provided. The method comprises the steps of mounting an inner box upside down on a tool, adhering an insulating panel to the outer facing surfaces of the inner box, positioning an outer box around the inner box assembly, pouring liquid polyurethane into the gap between the outer box and inner box assembly, and foaming the liquid polyurethane. The PUR foam fills the space between the VIP panels and the outer box, and preferably covers the VIP panels.
Abstract: A core for winding sheet material is proved. The core comprises a cylindrical tube having a longitudinally oriented slot formed therein, and a strip of soft material located in the slot. Because of the geometry of the slot and the strip, the strip may be softer in the central region but firmer where the core transitions from the relatively soft strip to the relatively hard tube. The leading edge of the sheet material imbeds itself into the soft central region of the strip as additional layers are wound around the core.
Abstract: A cylindrical container having a plastic overcap and flexible panels that can be assembled into a serving bowl are provided. The cylindrical container may hold snack foods or other items. The flexible bowl panels lock together and may mate with the overcap to form the serving bowl. The flexible bowl panels may be packaged outside one or more cylindrical containers or may fit inside a container.

Abstract: A repositionable merchandising display strip is provided. The display comprises a thin, flat body and a layer of adhesive on the front and back surfaces of the body. The front removable adhesive layer releasably holds products and the back removable adhesive layer is formulated so that the display can be removably adhered to a surface such as glass, wood, metal or other materials commonly found in retail stores. The display may further comprise a peel-away front layer releasably attached to the front removable adhesive layer and a peel-away back layer releasably attached to the back removable adhesive layer.
Abstract: A display hutch is provided that can be made from three components adhered together to form a flat compact structure suitable for shipping. The compact structure can be positioned upright and converted into the display hutch by pushing down on support halves and by rotating inwardly shelf panels.
Abstract: A two piece, easy-to-assemble hutch for shipping and displaying items is provided. The hutch comprises two laterally opposing, hinged sidewalls, one or more elongated horizontal front panels, a rear wall and shelves made of two halves. The hutch is moveable between a first position in which each shelf is folded up against itself and a second position in which each shelf forms a substantially planar load supporting surface.
Abstract: A two piece thermoformed container comprising a tray and a lid for holding large and small objects is provided. The container is portable, recloseable and provides easy access to the contents. The tray includes a front wall, rear wall and opposing side walls. Each side wall defines an elongated rib. The lid comprises front and rear covering portions, a recessed covering portion and side walls. The lid side walls form grooves which receive the tray ribs. The lid is moveable in a sliding fashion in two directions between a fully closed position in which the lid is substantially aligned with the tray and an opened position in which lid is positioned partly forward or rearward with respect to the tray.
Abstract: A two component shelving system for shipping and displaying items. The system has a plurality of shelves, with each shelf comprised of a two fold-down flaps, one from each component, connected together.
Abstract: A flexible walled package formed from a multiple layer laminate and having an external recloseable pocket for holding a scoop or other item is provided. The pocket has a back panel formed from part of an inner layer and a front panel formed from part of a scored outer layer. Outside the perimeter of the pocket the inner layer and the outer layer are adhered together with permanent adhesive. Inside the pocket perimeter the inner layer and the outer layer may be adhered together with pressure sensitive adhesive to close the pocket.
