  • Patent number: 8213734
Abstract: A method for changing the depth at which an image is focused is provided in a portable imaging device that includes an image recording arrangement that has a lens system, an image sensor for recording images, and a display arrangement for presentation of the recorded images. The method includes moving a movable focusing frame covering a part of a recorded image presented on the display to identify an area of interest in the presented image. The method also includes analyzing the image within the frame to obtain a setting required to focus the image within the frame and applying the obtained setting to the full presented image to focus the presented image at the depth defined by the current position of the movable focusing frame.

  • Publication number: 20120164993
Abstract: The present invention relates a method and a mobile communication device for generating a muffle-compensated ring signal in response to detecting that the mobile communicating device is in a muffling environment. The method comprises the steps of emitting a reference sound by a loudspeaker of the communication device and then measuring the acoustic response of thereof at a microphone of the same device. The acoustic response is analyzed by searching for characteristics that indicate that the mobile communication is stowed away in a muffling environment, and if such characteristics are found compensating for the muffling environment by automatically adjusting the ring signal in response to the specific characteristics of the acoustic response.

  • Publication number: 20120163668
Abstract: A method performed by a mobile terminal may include displaying an image via a display of the mobile device. A first user selection of a portion of the image is received and text in the selected portion of the image is identified. The identified text is displayed via the display. A second user selection of at least a portion of the identified text is received. The portion of the identified text is translated from a first language into a second language that differs from the first language. The translated text, in the second language, is displayed over the image via the display.

  • Publication number: 20120165068
Abstract: The present invention relates a method and a mobile communication device for generating an adaptive ring signal level in the mobile communication device in response to the surrounding environmental condition of said mobile communication device and also in response to the way the mobile communication device is stored away. By comparing a transfer that is determined based on the relation between an emitted signal from the loudspeaker and a response recorded by the microphone and an ideal transfer function a calculated response function is obtained. The calculated response function is compared with predefined response functions stored in a look up table to find a match that is then selected. The ring signal is thereafter adjusted to a level that corresponds to the values associated with and stored together with the selected predefined response function.

  • Publication number: 20120162249
Abstract: A display apparatus including an information selecting unit, a retrieval range deciding unit, and a retrieving unit. The information selecting unit selects at least one piece of information from a plurality of pieces of information stored in a memory, each of the plurality of pieces of information being attached with additional information. The retrieval deciding unit decides a retrieval range on the basis of the additional information attached to each piece of the information selected by the information selecting unit. The retrieving unit retrieves and outputs additional pieces of information of the plurality of pieces of information corresponding to the retrieval range decided by the retrieval-direction/retrieval-range deciding unit from the memory.

  • Patent number: 8208010
Abstract: Methods for adjusting a picture of an object captured by a camera in a mobile radio communication terminal include defining a first camera angle relative to the object and capturing an image of the object by means of the camera from a second camera angle relative to the object. The second camera angle is offset from the first camera angle. The methods further include storing image data relating to the captured image, and generating an angularly adjusted image of the object in response to the image data and an angular relation between the first camera angle and the second camera angle. Corresponding mobile radio communication terminals are also disclosed. The terminals include an image processing system configured to process an image of an object captured by a camera from a second camera angle by generating an angularly adjusted image of the object in response to image data for the image, and in response to an angular relation between the second camera angle and a first camera angle.
