  • Patent number: 9285586
Abstract: A device may determine a first distance between a viewer and a display of a device. The display may include a first parallax barrier including a plurality of parallax barrier clusters. Each of the parallax barrier clusters includes a plurality of parallax barrier elements that are parallel to one another and parallel to the parallax barrier clusters. The device may also determine a second distance between a right eye of the viewer and a left eye of the viewer, and move parallax barrier elements to control spacing between the parallax barrier clusters based on the first distance and the second distance. Furthermore, the device may send, from the display, light rays of a right-eye image of a stereoscopic image and a left-eye image of the stereoscopic image to a right eye of the viewer and a left eye of the viewer, respectively, through the spacing between the parallax barrier clusters.

  • Patent number: 9276921
Abstract: A server in a communications network establishes a communication channel between a user's device and another device having a display. Particularly, the server generates a Quick Response (QR) code utilizing one or more parameters, and sends it to a device for display to a user. Using his or her device, the user captures an image of the displayed QR code and extracts the parameters using an image analysis technique. The device then sends the extracted parameters back to the server, which then utilizes them to authenticate the user and establish the communications session.

Abstract: A method in a first device for setting up a peer-to-peer IP connection between the first device and a second device may include sending a request to a second device for setting up the peer-to-peer IP connection between the first device and the second device. The request may include an IP address of the first device. Alternatively, an IP address of the second device may be received in a message from the second device. The peer-to-peer IP connection between the first device and the second device is then set up. The setting up may be initiated by one of the parties associated with the first device or the second device by connecting to the other party using the IP address of the other party.

  • Patent number: 9264184
Abstract: A coordinated signaling scheme for both uplink and downlink transmissions between a base station and a user terminal reduces the amount of time that the user terminal must turn on its receiver to listen for scheduling messages and ACK/NACK signaling. A scheduler at a base station aligns the transmission of downlink scheduling messages (e.g., downlink assignments) with uplink grants and ACK/NACK signaling for uplink transmissions. Aligning the downlink scheduling messages with uplink control signaling enables the user terminal to turn off its receiver for longer periods of time.
