    Abstract: A method for determining agglutination of a biological liquid by measuring a change in hydrodynamic resistance of the biological liquid flowing through a microfluidic channel of a microfluidic device, comprising the steps of: a) calibrating the microfluidic device; b) filling the microfluidic reaction channel with a hydrophobic continuous liquid phase, c) introducing a first reference droplet; d) causing the first reference droplet to flow; e) measuring the time of flow of the first reference droplet; f) introducing a second reference droplet followed by a sequence of test droplet(s); g) causing the second reference droplet and the sequence of test droplet(s) to flow; h) measuring the time of flow; i) calculating the hydrodynamic resistance of the sequence of the test droplet(s); and j) determining agglutination of the biological liquid by comparing the hydrodynamic resistance with the calibrated values.

    Abstract: A noise monitoring system has at least two microphones and a microphones sensitivity register. The microphones are arranged physically with respect to each other such that when the microphones are placed within an acoustic field to be monitored, the RMS signal level of that acoustic field at each of the microphones is substantially the same for a monitoring frequency range. The microphones sensitivity register has reference data indicative of an initial sensitivity difference (?0) between output RMS signal levels measured by the microphones in a reference acoustic field. A current difference (?1, ?2) between the RMS signal levels concurrently output by the microphones for the currently monitored acoustic field is compared. A fault signal is generated if the current difference (?1, ?2) differs from the initial sensitivity difference (?0) more than an acceptable limit.

The commissioning system first transforms the defined scenarios and spaces, which essentially represent a logical configuration of the building automation and control system, into a network-centric configuration. Then, the system decomposes the network-centric configuration into a physical configuration of each mesh node, resulting in a set of parameters for each mesh node.

Each camera is provided with a PIR detector circuit for measuring infrared radiation within the designated area, the video steam and IR data being transmitted to the receiver via analog communication means to reduce implementation costs. To minimize the risk of false trigger events, the receiver monitors both pixel changes in the streaming video signals as well as measured IR radiation levels within the designated area that fall within the traditional thermal energy range of human body heat.
