  • Publication number: 20160000022
Abstract: Biodegradable mulch of the type used in various agricultural applications is made by multi-layer extrusion from a mixture of two compostable biodegradable polymers that comply with the EN13432 standard and that include potato starch, a black masterbatch and biodegradable recycled polymers. The mulch self-degrades in a short period of time, becoming a compostable material that enriches the soil, avoiding the collecting and cleaning tasks that are necessary in conventional mulches.

  • Patent number: 8892484
Abstract: A method and apparatus for predicting significant future events based on previous events. Plural messages representing events are received. Attributes of the messages are mapped to respective feature dimensions to define a multidimensional histogram. Co-occurrence of at least two event types are determined based on queries of the multidimensional histogram. Anomalous event types are detected from the messages by comparing feature dimensions of incoming messages to probability density functions of the cluster corresponding to the event type and highly anomalous event types are determined. Causal relationships between each pair of event types are determined and a Bayesian belief network of the pairs of event types is created and used to predict future events based on occurrence of additional events.

  • Publication number: 20140132059
Abstract: A wheel assembly is provided that includes a body coupled to the central hub to rotate about the axis of rotation. The body forms an alternating pattern circumscribed about the central hub at constant radial distance from the axis of rotation. The body defines a median circle centered on and transverse to the axis of rotation. The alternating pattern of the body is evenly distributed across the median circle, resulting in an effective width greater than the width of the body. On hard surfaces, the wheel assembly provides a broad track while maintaining a relatively thin contact area, as result providing reduced friction than a traditional wheel. On soft surfaces, the wheel assembly provides substantial traction.

  • Patent number: 8553851
Abstract: A software solution to recording IP based communications that is highly scalable and reliable. Recordings can be configured to occur automatically or be triggered on-demand by a user that has been given the rights to do so. The user initiating the on-demand recording need not be a participant on the call. The solution is based on two server components: a call manager and a media server. The call manager is responsible for re-routing the IP media stream between two endpoints via the media server. The media server relays the IP media packets while capturing a copy that is stored as the recording. The recordings are stored on a network share and secured using standard network file security mechanisms. Access to playback recordings requires rights that are configured via the administrator. Playback of the recordings can be accomplished via the phone, client application or web service. Each playback interface offers a listing of recordings that the user has rights to access.
