Patent number: 7513400Abstract: A combination hanger and indicator, or either of them separately, the hanger with a body and a post extending upward from the body, the intersection of the post and the body defining a lower neck region of the hanger, the post having a flange extending outward from the post at a position removed from the body of the hanger. An indicator includes a pair of opposing side walls connected by a pair of opposing end walls, with an opening in the top of the indicator, the opening defined at least in part by a displaceable resilient tab, preferably two positioned on opposite sides of the indicator, attached to one of the side walls or end walls, wherein displacement of the tab enlarges the opening to admit the flange. At least some portion of the post between the flange and the body is smaller than the flange to reduce the displacement of the tab.Type: GrantFiled: February 27, 2007Date of Patent: April 7, 2009Assignee: Spotless Plastics Pty, Ltd.Inventor: Stanley F. Patent number: 7464842Abstract: In a combination hanger and indicator tab, the hanger has a hook extending upward from a body, and forming an angle with the body, with a rib extending around the periphery of the hanger at least in part of the region of the intersection between the hook and the body. The indicator tab has two opposing side walls connected by an end wall. The side walls preferably have a through opening therethrough, while the end walls preferably have a first notch on at least one free side thereof, but more preferably both. A receiving boss extends inward from one or both side walls, the receiving boss having a second notch therein for receiving the rib of the hanger. Optionally, an incline rises from the interior surface of the size wall carrying the receiving boss towards the top of the second notch.Type: GrantFiled: April 27, 2007Date of Patent: December 16, 2008Assignee: Spotless Plastics Pty, Ltd.Inventor: Stanley F. Patent number: 7337932Abstract: An I-beam having a web curved in two dimensions is used to provide an enhanced stiffness to weight ratio for molded plastic hangers. The I-beam includes first and second generally parallel flanges which extend in a longitudinal direction. The flanges are joined by a curved web, which is defined in part by first and second radii of curvature, wherein the radii are nominally orthogonal to each other.Type: GrantFiled: July 11, 2005Date of Patent: March 4, 2008Assignee: Spotless Plastics Pty. Publication number: 20080011792Abstract: A pinch grip hanger has a hook and a support bar suspended from said hook. A pinch grip is mounted on the support bar along its length, having two jaws, with the first jaw mounted on said support bar in a fixed location, and the second jaw pivotally mounted to the first jaw. The second jaw has a user engagement portion, and garment engaging portion extending downwardly from the support bar. The user engagement portion enables a user to open the pinch grip for insertion or release of a garment. A multi-stage spring with has a plurality of linear portions is mounted on the first and second jaws, biasing the garment engaging portion of said second jaw into engagement with said first jaw. The multi-stage spring has multiple stages of spring engagement, allowing a substantially constant spring bias throughout the range of motion of said pinch grip, and can engage both the first and second jaws. Alternately or additionally, a spring has a safety lock means to maintain spring engagement with the jaws.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 7, 2007Publication date: January 17, 2008Applicant: SPOTLESS PLASTICS PTY. Publication number: 20070246490Abstract: A garment retention system includes a garment hanger having a body, a hook extending from the body for suspending the hanger from a support, first and second arms extending laterally from the body to respective first and second distal ends. At least one arm has an attachment retention surface with a surface normal directed generally towards the body and in a generally opposite direction from the distal end of that. A garment retention attachment extends between the attachment retention surface and the distal end of the at least one arm. The garment retention attachment includes a first means for engaging the attachment retention surface, and a second means for engaging the distal end of the at least one arm. The garment retention system is enhanced by providing the garment retention attachment with friction-increasing surface features on an upwardly facing side of thereof, and/or by judicious selection of material for the garment retention attachment.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 20, 2007Publication date: October 25, 2007Applicant: SPOTLESS PLASTICS PTY.
