Abstract: A pinch grip hanger mechanism dispenses pinch grip hangers, one at a time, and then opens the pinch grips for insertion of a garment. The insertion of a garment triggers the closing of the pinch grips, and reciprocation of a hanger feed push plate to dispense another hanger. The device may also automatically attach size indicia to the hanger as the hanger is dispensed. The closing of the pinch grips is initiated by safety triggers, which are triggered by insertion of a garment. This provides a safety feature for the device, since the operator needs to use both hands to hold the garment taut for insertion. Thus, both hands are away from the device at the time the pinch grips are opened and closed.

Abstract: A method for removing a releasable size indicator from a garment hanger. The garment hanger including: a body having at least one web for removably securing a size indicator to the body, the web having a fixed latch and a pivoting latch; and a size indicator having finger means for engaging the fixed and pivoting latches. The method including: (a) feeding the garment hanger to an indicator removal station; (b) supporting the garment hanger at the indicator removal station for removal of the size indicator; (c) depressing the pivoting latch to pivot the same out of engagement with the finger means to release the size indicator from the web; (d) collecting the released size indicator; (e) removing the garment hanger from the indicator removal station; and (f) repeating steps (a) to (e) for each of a plurality of hangers sequentially fed to the indicator removal station.

Abstract: A coordinate loop garment hanger comprising a molded plastic hanger body having a hook receiving loop element depending from and molded integrally with the molded plastic body at a lower portion thereof. The hook receiving loop element includes a passageway for selectively receiving and suspending therefrom a hook of a second ganged garment hanger which is at least partially enclosed along its length by left, right, top and bottom surfaces. In one embodiment, the left, right, top and bottom surfaces define substantially parallel left and right sides and rounded and curved top and bottom surfaces. The passageway is also curved along its length, with the open ends thereof being slightly lower than the center thereof. Several different embodiments of the loop element are disclosed with different length and shape sides, bottoms and ends.

Abstract: A molded plastic garment hanger as is widely used for the purpose of shipping and displaying garments, comprising a unitary plastic central hook and arms extending in opposite directions from the base of the central hook to facilitate a garment to be suspended therefrom by garment clips. The garment clips enable the attachment of various kinds of garments thereto, such as underwear, slips, brassieres, swimwear and the like, and are particularly adapted to secure the shoulder straps of such garments. The garment hanger has an improved garment retaining clip wherein as a garment strap is inserted into the garment retaining clip, the garment receiving channel of the clip first opens to allow the garment strap to enter, and then closes to securely retain the garment and to prevent it from becoming accidentally dislodged therefrom.

Abstract: A molded plastic garment hanger having an improved indicator attachment device is disclosed, wherein the hanger has a hook with an upstanding web to be received within a downwardly opening cavity of a molded plastic indicator having side walls formed with openings. The web is formed with attachment means in the form of a resilient detent formed with a laterally projecting portion positioned to engage the opening to prevent removal of the indicator from the hook unless the resilient detent is physically displaced from the opening to facilitate release of indicator from the hook. A method and apparatus for removing the indicator from the hook is also provided by inserting a pin defined on a first plate into the indicator to displace the indicator attachment mechanism and thereby release the indicator from the indicator attachment mechanism without damaging either the indicator or the indicator attachment mechanism.
