Abstract: An apparatus is provided for in-line folding and affixing a label to an article, the label having a fold line thereacross defining a foldable portion and a cover portion of the label. The apparatus comprises a transfer grid having one or more rollers to convey the label from a first end of the transfer grid to a second end of the transfer grid. An opening is defined between two of the rollers intermediate the first and second ends of the transfer grid. The transfer grid conveys the label in a substantially unfolded orientation from the first end of the transfer grid to the opening of the transfer grid such that the foldable portion of the label is projective through the opening. A folding station is adjacent the opening and receives the foldable portion of the label, urging a projecting portion of the foldable portion over the cover portion to define a substantially folded-over orientation of the label.

The method comprises the steps of: detecting a first fault driving the motor to a maximum operating range; detecting a second fault forcing the motor to operate towards a minimum operating range; and generating a fault signal if both faults are detected substantially simultaneously.

Abstract: An improved scheme for shipping and handling Smart Cards and Smart Card readers is provided. In accordance with one embodiment of the present invention, a business form is provided including a mounting ply defining a mounting surface and a card reader defining an upper reader panel and a lower reader panel. The upper reader panel is coupled to the lower reader panel via a reader hinge. The reader hinge is arranged to enable the upper reader panel to pivot relative to the lower reader panel from an open reader position to a closed reader position. The open reader position is characterized by separation of the upper reader panel from the lower reader panel by an angle of approximately 180° about a pivotal axis defined by the reader hinge. The card reader is removably secured to the mounting surface of the mounting ply in the open reader position. The card reader is preferably removably secured to the mounting surface with an adhesive.

Abstract: A coating for a retroreflective document is provided which renders the surface of the document receptive to toners and inks printed thereon while not substantially interfering with the retroreflective properties of the underlying substrate. Methods for fabricating the document are also provided.

Abstract: In a radio transmission/receiving device in which the same communication frequency band is used for transmission and receiving modes, a low pass filter for preventing higher harmonics is arranged between an antenna and a transmission circuit under the transmission mode and a band filter for band selection is arranged between the antenna and a receiving circuit under the receiving mode, whereby a reduction of production costs of the system is achieved at by reducing the number of elements required for the band filter.

A pin of the rotating shaft is pressed into the pin hole, thereby restraining thrust-direction movement, and also limiting the swinging range of the rotating shaft. Through holes are provided on a radio apparatus at locations corresponding to the screw holes on the rotating shaft, and mounting screws are used to fix the radio apparatus to the bearing part of the adapter.

Abstract: The a modular system for locating and clamping a workpiece in space is provided that includes positioning blade including a riser mount having a plurality of first mounting-bores and a plurality of first positioning-bores. A clamp mount is provided on the blade that includes a plurality of second mounting-bores and a plurality of second positioning-bores. The first positioning-bores have a predetermined positional relationship to the second positioning-bores. A locator arm is also provided on the blade, and has a plurality of third positioning-bores where the third positioning-bores comprise a predetermined position relative to the first positioning-bores and the second positioning-bores. A system for positioning and clamping a workpiece is also provided that includes in combination the foregoing positioning blade mounted on structure for elevating the workpiece, e.g., a riser, and structure for clamping the workpiece.

The invention provides that the moveable sealing washer (3) comprises, on the surface thereof which faces the control tappet (9) and which is located in the area of the outer periphery of the washer (3), a step (14) which serves as a volume stop that can cross over with regard to the pivot support (10).

Abstract: The spray nozzle comprises a mixing chamber into which a liquid, forming a first and a second liquid stream, can flow through two inlet openings and which comprises an outlet opening, disposed downstream, for a spray jet. A mixing chamber wall acts as a guide surface for the liquid streams and is shaped at the outlet opening such that the liquid streams meet at an angle at the outlet opening and then form the spray jet. Given an angle of impact of approximately 90°, this spraying process delivers droplets with a high level of kinetic energy and a broad uniform fan-out of the droplet paths. Large areas can therefore be uniformly sprayed with the spray nozzle from a considerable distance.

Abstract: A printing system for printing documents and forms, as needed, in response to user-entered commands, includes a touch screen monitor for displaying information regarding the documents and forms, and user options, and for entry of commands by the user. A memory stores a plurality of documents and forms, the documents and forms being organized into a plurality of libraries, and stores software to control the display of options on the monitor and the interpretation and implementation of commands entered on the monitor. A printer prints documents and forms, and a processor, responsive to the monitor and the memory and communicating therewith, is connected to the printer to control printing of a document or form by the printer upon selection thereof by a user and entry of commands via the touch screen monitor. The memory further stores software to control the display and printing of the documents and forms without the native applications in which the documents and forms were created.

Abstract: A rail car truck includes a pair of longitudinally spaced wheelsets, a pair of laterally spaced side frames extending between and supported by the wheelsets and a bolster which extends between the side frames to support a vehicle body. There is a brace connected between the side frames to control relative longitudinal movement therebetween. The brace includes a center clamp assembly located generally intermediate the side frames and generally mid-way between the wheelsets. Each side frame mounts a pair of longitudinally spaced end blocks. There are four struts, each being inclined to the longitudinal axis of the truck and each extending from and being connected to an end block and to the clamp assembly.
