Abstract: A shipment form is provided including a face sheet, a liner ply, a reusable adhesive laminate, and a laminating adhesive. The face sheet defines first and second major faces and includes printed indicia on the first major face. The printed indicia being arranged to indicate an attempted delivery. The reusable adhesive laminate includes a reusable adhesive and a removable ply. The reusable adhesive and the removable ply are configured such that the reusable adhesive retains its properties of adhesion following removal of the removable ply therefrom. The laminating adhesive is interposed between the liner ply and the face sheet so as to secure the liner ply to the second major face of the face sheet. The laminating adhesive is further interposed between the reusable adhesive laminate and the face sheet so as to secure the reusable adhesive laminate to the second major face of the face sheet.

Abstract: An air-handler includes an AC induction motor that drives a blower to move air across a heat exchanger. A switch system selectively determines whether the blower motor operates at its rated full speed or at a reduced speed. For full speed operation, the switch system couples an AC supply at a nominal line frequency directly to the blower motor and bypasses an inverter. For reduced speed operation, the switch system couples a lower frequency output of the inverter to the blower motor. The blower is operated at a reduced speed during a pre-run dehumidification mode, a post-run heat recovery mode, and/or an electronic air-cleaning mode. The switch system allows the rated current capacity of the inverter to be substantially less that the rated full load current of the blower motor.
Abstract: A voltage sag generator for alternating current power systems intentionally creates power quality disturbances. The sag generator has a switch-mode impedance between its input and its output. Varying the duty-cycle of the switch-mode impedance causes voltage sags.
Abstract: A refrigeration chiller employs a centrifugal compressor the impellers of which are mounted on a shaft which is itself mounted for rotation using rolling element bearings lubricated only by the refrigerant which constitutes the working fluid of the chiller system. Apparatus is taught for providing liquid refrigerant to (1.) the bearings immediately upon chiller start-up, during chiller operation and during a coastdown period subsequent to shutdown of the chiller and (2.) the drive motor of the chiller's compressor for motor cooling purposes. By use of a variable speed-driven motor to drive the compressor, optimized part load chiller performance is achieved in a chiller which does not require or employ an oil-based lubrication system.

Abstract: A method of controlling chiller capacity in a chiller system. The method comprises the steps of: measuring entering the fluid temperature of a fluid entering a heat exchanger; measuring the fluid temperature of the fluid leaving the heat exchanger; determining a desired leaving fluid temperature; establishing chiller capacity as a function of the difference between leaving fluid temperature and the desired leaving fluid temperature; and adjusting the determined chiller capacity as a function of the difference between entering fluid temperature and the desired leaving fluid temperature.
Abstract: A security label for a specimen container comprising a generally elongated strip of label material having a plurality of lines of perforations is disclosed. Also disclosed is a security label for a specimen container having a line of perforations. The line or lines of perforations of the disclosed invention extend across the width of the generally elongated strip of label material. A method of securing a specimen container is also disclosed. The method disclosed involves providing a security label comprising a generally elongated strip of label material defining a first surface and a second surface. A plurality of lines of perforations extend across the width of the generally elongated strip of label material. The security label is then adhered to a specimen container so that the center portion of the security label is aligned with the lid of a specimen container.

Abstract: A thin layer of a magnetizable coating is extruded or coextruded onto a external surface portion of a tubular sponge bulb seal for an automotive door or hatch. The coating is of a thickness, location on the seal and formulation to be selectively magnetized to provide a desired magnetic force level to optimize the balance between effective sealing and ease of door opening.
Abstract: An expansion device in a refrigeration chiller defines at least two fixed orifices and employs at least two positionable valve members in order to minimize the overall flow area through the expansion device under a first set of chiller operating conditions, to maximize the overall flow area through the expansion device under a second set of chiller operating conditions and to define a flow area intermediate said minimum and said maximum flow areas when a third set of chiller operating conditions exist.
Abstract: In a belt clip for portable electronic equipment by use of rewind urging force of a torsion coil spring, a detachment preventing mechanism of a guide shaft, serving as a shaft center of a rotational mechanism, is implemented with a simple structure so as to improve a reduction in the number of parts and yield.
Abstract: In a preferred embodiment, the system includes a plurality of anchoring plates (50), each with a series of holes (52) positioned on the anterior face of the plate and at right angles to it, close together, capable of accommodating a fastening screw (53) inserted in a respective through-hole (31) provided in the facing panel, and adjustable attachment assemblies each capable of fixing such a respective plate to the support structure, in such a way that the anterior face thereof is turned toward the inner face of the facing panel.
Abstract: A method of and an apparatus for reproducing texture, in which a garment product designed by a designer is reproduced using a computer. A visual texture of the product is reproduced by applying the reproduced product to a virtual model, and displaying the virtual model, on which the product is put, on a screen. A tactile texture of the product is also reproduced by driving a tactile texture reproducer based on the surface characteristics, softness and heat transfer coefficient of a fabric to be applied to the product. Based on the reproduced visual and tactile textures, consumers experience the virtual texture of the product through their virtual and tactile senses. Accordingly, it is possible to positively reflect opinions of consumers on products being developed. This makes it possible to develop products having a better chance of market success while reducing the labor, time and costs required in the developments of products.

Abstract: An adapter plate for pivotally securing an isolating mount to a drive train component is provided. The adapter plate includes a body portion which can be secured to the drive train. The adapter plate also includes a pivot support formed on the body portion. The pivot support has a pivot member for pivotally securing a first end of the isolating mount. The adapter plate also includes a securing member formed on the body portion. The securing member has an aperture for aligning with a corresponding aperture at a second end of the isolating mount. The isolating mount can pivot about the pivot support during installation of the drive train component within a vehicle, and the isolating mount can be secured to the securing member to prevent pivotal movement after installation of the drive train component within the vehicle.
Abstract: A damping system for a rail car truck utilizes friction wedges supported on side springs to damp relative movement between the rail car truck bolster and the side frames supporting it. Each friction wedge has a generally triangular shape with an angle &thgr; defined between a vertical friction surface which bears against a side frame and a sloping friction surface which moves relative to the bolster. The angle &thgr; and the force P of each side spring are defined by
