Abstract: For lingual transformation-based encryption, a method parses communication data into lingual units. The method further generates a validation nonce from the lingual units. In addition, the method generates a transform unit for each lingual unit by applying a lingual message transformation to each lingual unit as an encryption function of a selection rule.
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to methods and compositions for modulating the activity of KCNQ channels as a means for reducing the effects of aberrant KCNQ channel function associated with epilepsy, deafness and arrhythmias including but not limited to, Long-QT syndrome (“LQTS”), and atrial fibrillation. The present disclosure also relates to the discovery of certain regions of KCNQ channels that interact with various channel stimulating molecules such as, ATP, and PIP2, as well as KCNQ channel domains that effect voltage dependant channel activation. The disclosure is also directed to the use of small molecules to modulate KCNQ channel activity in a cell. Moreover, the present disclosure relates to the therapeutic effects of treating a subject with modulators of KCNQ channel activity.

Abstract: A method for forming an austempered iron composition with a nanoscale microstructure includes a step of heating an iron-carbon-silicon alloy with silicon to a first temperature that is lower than A1 for the iron-carbon-silicon alloy. The iron-carbon-silicon alloy is then adiabatically deformed such that the temperature of the iron-carbon-silicon alloy rises to a second temperature which is sufficient to form proeutectoid ferrite and austenite. The iron-carbon-silicon alloy is cooled to a first austempering temperature. The iron-carbon-silicon alloy is then heated to a second austempering temperature that is greater than the first austempering temperature to form a dual phase microstructure. Characteristically, the dual phase microstructure includes proeutectoid ferrite and ausferrite.
Abstract: Disclosed are fiber optic devices and related methods that allow for measurement of blood flow and oxygenation in real time. These devices have particular application to the spinal cord. Such devices have applicability in, for example, the care of military members sustaining combatant and noncombatant spinal injuries, as well as to civilians. The devices also have utility in the acute and subacute management of spine trauma, enhancing the efficacy of interventions aimed at the prevention of secondary ischemic injury, and ultimately improving neurologic outcome.

Abstract: A system and method for automatically administering insulin based on a feedforward control. The automatic insulin delivery system may include a computing device comprising a processor, machine readable non-transitory media which stores the coupled-model of the invention, and a monitoring system. The machine readable transitory media may be configured to receive one or more inputs and the coupled-model may utilize a feedforward control to parameterize the inputs and generate an output that can be translated to a type and amount of insulin to be administered by the system. The input(s) received by the machine readable non-transitory media may be created by a user or received from one or more sensors. The method may include providing a model that is stored on a machine readable non-transitory media and administering insulin based on the output provided by the model.
