Abstract: A method for acquiring images using at least one CMOS-type sensor with four transistors including an acquisition node and a read node, where the read node can receive a compression signal, including a step of reading a reference state of the sensor; a reset step; an integration step, during which the sensor is exposed and during part of which the compression signal is applied to the read node; and a step of reading the data acquired during the integration step; the read node being, during the integration step, isolated from the acquisition node, except immediately before the application of the compression signal, at which time the acquisition node is connected to the read node long enough to enable a transfer of the charges present at the acquisition node to the read node.
Abstract: The method and a related device are for driving a brushless motor, according to which by acting solely on the control value, that is by reducing or increasing it, the driving mode eventually passes from a sinusoidal three-phase driving mode to a distorted square-wave three-phase driving mode for increasing or maximizing the voltage that may be supplied to each motor winding or vice versa. An effective drive voltage profile includes, cyclically, during each 60 electrical degree interval, profiles of re-constructed outphased complete drive waveforms including a first one stably in a saturated region, a second one exiting, at the beginning of the interval, a state of incipient saturation, and a third one reaching, at the end of the interval, a state of incipient saturation. In this way, by modifying the numerical control value it is possible to pass from a sinusoidal drive mode to a distorted drive mode of enhanced maximum peak value or vice versa.

Abstract: A nanometric device comprising a substrate; a plurality of conductive spacers of a conductive material, each conductive spacer being arranged on top of and transverse to the substrate, the conductive spacers including respective pairs of conductive spacers defining respective hosting seats each of less than 30 nm wide; and a plurality of nanometric elements respectively accommodated in the hosting seats.
Abstract: A phase change memory formed by a plurality of phase change memory devices having a chalcogenide memory region extending over an own heater. The heaters have all a relatively uniform height. The height uniformity is achieved by forming the heaters within pores in an insulator that includes an etch stop layer and a sacrificial layer. The sacrificial layer is removed through an etching process such as chemical mechanical planarization. Since the etch stop layer may be formed in a repeatable way and is common across all the devices on a wafer, considerable uniformity is achieved in heater height. Heater height uniformity results in more uniformity in programmed memory characteristics.

Abstract: A device, such as a pump capacitor or an energy storing inductor, is charged by coupling it to a voltage source. Thereafter, the device is connected in parallel to one of the capacitors or capacitance cells to be charged, and the charging of the device and successive connections of it in parallel to a selected capacitor of the series of capacitors for charging it are replicated for all the capacitors of the series. The sequence of different connections of the device to the charge voltage source and to the selected one of the capacitors of the series is actuated through a plurality of coordinately controlled switches that establish distinct current circulation paths, according to a switched-capacitor or switched inductor techniques driven by respective periodic control signals that may be generated from a master clock signal.
