Abstract: A needle or stylet has a tip contour with a reverse back bevel curved toward the longitudinal axis of the needle or stylet. The needle has a flexible intermediate portion and/or a two-part construction in which a distal portion of the needle to crimped onto a proximal portion of the needle. The needle or a stylet is combined with a spring mechanism in the hub of the needle or stylet assembly. The spring mechanism positions the tip of the needle or stylet in a middle position extending from the distal end of the assembly, allows the needle or stylet to be moved into a spring loaded fully retracted configuration within the assembly as the septal wall is tented, and then releasing the spring loaded needle or stylet as the needle or stylet penetrates the septal wall. A method of using a needle or stylet with a spring mechanism is included.

Abstract: A novel design for desiccant air dryer pneumatic mufflers includes a core comprising a perforated inner tube with baffles attached to the outside surface of the inner tube. The inner tube is positioned in the interior of an outer tube, and a cap is positioned on one end of both tubes. The interior portion of the cap is solid so that it blocks the flow of air at the end of the inner tube, forcing the air to flow through the perforations in the inner tube and into the outer tube. The perimeter of the cap is perforated so that the air exits the muffler.

  • Patent number: 10907850
Abstract: A self-insulating air delivery system maintains a desired air temperature of the conditioned air supplied thereinto for delivery to an aircraft. The system uses insulating airflow layers; a parallel layer and a counterflow layer. A starting section connects to a PCA unit and delivers conditioned air therefrom to an interior supply hose. The starting section also either creates bleed conditioned air or accepts conditioned insulating air and supplies it to an interior insulating hose that is annularly outward of the supply hose and in which air flows parallel to airflow in the supply hose. A reversing connector indirectly connects the supply hose to the aircraft and reverses the flow of air from the interior insulating hose to flow back toward the PCA unit in an exterior counterflow hose that is annularly outward of the interior insulating hose.
