    Abstract: An automated inline rip saw system utilizing x-ray and optical scanning techniques to identify and detect flaws within a piece of wood. The present system may further utilize a precision skewing unit which may reduce or eliminate errors while allowing for precision rip cuts to be performed. Further, the present automated inline rip saw system may utilize multiple independently controlled saw blades to perform precision cuts. Finally, the present inline rip saw system may allow for more accurate detection of flaws or undesirable inclusions within the wood earlier in the wood production process, including the ability to scan for, identify, and remove sap wood from green lumber.

    Abstract: A mechanically actuated tubing drain for service with oil wells, water wells, gas wells and/or thermal wells has a configuration in which the drain opens by operation of a bumper member which may be pulled upwardly to move a sleeve member which is initially positioned adjacent to a drain port, thereby sealing the drain port. Once the bumper member pushes the sleeve member upwardly, any fluid in the tubing above the drain port will drain from the tubing. The bumper member may be pulled upwardly either by upward movement of a rod string or by operation of a wireline or slickline tool. The mechanically actuated drain does not require a tubing anchor to operate.

    Abstract: Methods and compositions for the installation of scientifically engineered and constructed unpaved runways are disclosed herein. The compositions are heterogeneous mixtures produced by blending aliphatic or cyclic organic compounds with binders that chemically react with gravel, aggregate, and soil particles to create permanent bonds, resulting in a strengthened and stabilized surface. When blended into the aggregate of a runway surface, the organic compounds act as a carrier fluid, distributing the binder system evenly so particles of all sizes are thoroughly and uniformly coated with the composition. Once the composition is distributed, an adhesion promoting compound reacts with constituents in the aggregate to increase the formation and strength of chemical bonds between particles.

    Abstract: A frame includes sliding panels to cover an opening of a cabinet. The panels are mounted to interlocking stiffeners. Each of the interlocking stiffeners includes a base portion that forms a channel to receive a forward leading edge or a rear leading edge of the panels. The interlocking stiffeners share forces between the panels. A latch assembly may also be engaged to the interlocking stiffener attached to the forward leading edge of the panel. The latch assembly includes a protruding or projecting portion, such as a bullnose, that positions the latch assembly with respect to a side frame member. During a closing operation, the protruding portion enters a channel of the side frame member. The protruding portion engages with the channel of the side frame member, which results in proper alignment for the latch assembly.
