  • Patent number: 10460574
Abstract: A bioptical workstation captures images of illuminated symbols with a solid-state imager. The workstation is field-upgradeable by installation of a camera module in the workstation away from the imager. The camera module captures an image of the operator through an upright window. The captured image of the illuminated symbol and the captured image of the operator are independently processed. The image of the operator is captured only with ambient light.

  • Patent number: 10451405
Abstract: A ranging system captures successive point clouds from moving freight, and a tracking system tracks successive positions and orientations of the moving freight. A computing device correlates each successive point cloud with each successive position and orientation and time of the moving freight, combines the correlated point clouds to obtain a composite point cloud of the moving freight, and processes the composite point cloud to dimension the moving freight. Once the freight is dimensioned, it may, for example, be efficiently loaded into a container.

  • Patent number: 10423924
Abstract: A method and apparatus for identifying a qualified target for an association with a misplaced item within a venue includes detecting, using a detection and locationing system, a communication device and/or person within the venue. The method and apparatus detect a physical item that has been misplaced within the venue, where that misplaced item at has one or more attributes. The method and apparatus perform a digital association of the misplaced item with the communication device or with the person, using a determined proximity and a profile attribute. With the digital association made, a digital notification is communicated to the associated communication device or person to retrieve and return the misplaced item along a determined path.

  • Patent number: 10422689
Abstract: A weighing scale is provided at a product processing workstation having a horizontal bed for supporting a horizontal bed window and an upright raised tower for supporting an upright tower window. A platter is mounted on the scale for joint movement therewith. The platter has a horizontal platter portion at least partly overlying the horizontal bed, and an upright platter portion at least partly overlying the raised tower. A guard on the upright platter portion overlies parts of the workstation for reducing weighing errors associated with weighing a product on the scale. Abstract: A system and method for locating group members. In various aspects, a set of wearable articles are grouped together. Each of the wearable articles may include a radio frequency identification (RFID) tag. An RFID positioning system within a venue receives RFID position data indicating a location for each wearable article in the set of wearable articles. Based on the RFID position data, the system and method detect that a first wearable article within the set of wearable articles is no longer within a permitted location of the venue. The system and method transmit an alert to a mobile device associated with a second wearable article within the set of wearable articles.

  • Patent number: 10360777
Abstract: Radio frequency identification (RFID) tags that pass through a portal in a venue are read by a portal RFID reader, and identified as being tags having a higher priority as compared to other RFID tags in the venue that have a lower priority. The identities of the high-priority tags are transmitted to an overhead RFID reader, which preferentially reads the high-priority tags over the low-priority tags in the venue. Only the high-priority RFID tags are located and tracked in the venue.
