Abstract: A rear load carrier, designed in particular as a bicycle carrier, for vehicles, primarily passenger vehicles, is telescopically extendable and has a guide profile and a support profile. The guide profile is fixed as an inner profile to the structure of the vehicle. The support profile rests on the guide profile as an overlapping, longitudinally displaceable profile having in particular a U-shaped cross section and being fixed to the guide profile by a clamping device. The clamping device passes through the longitudinally slotted upper flange of the guide profile and the bridge of the support profile.

  • Patent number: 7266825
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for synchronizing program sections of a computer program. The program sections can run in parallel on different processors of a computer. Data transfer between the program sections is synchronized by providing a buffer. Unauthorized access to the buffer is prevented by means of a flag that is set automatically by buffer utilities. The data transfer between individual program sections is thus synchronized by the buffer synchronization class only, which consists of the buffer, internal variables and the buffer utilities, is configured in a very simple manner and can thus be tested in operation an in a relatively simple manner by means of a computer comprising several processors. The data transfer is very efficient as the individual utilities are designed in a simple and short manner and thus require little processing time and as the data can be directly written in or read out of the buffer.

  • Patent number: 7265536
Abstract: A wafer probe station is provided with a wafer chuck, a wafer fastened on the chuck by vacuum suction, and a probe needle arrangement above the wafer to test the wafer at high frequencies by contacting selected pads on the wafer and alternately pads on a calibration substrate also fastened on the wafer chuck. A procedure for reproduction of a calibration position of an aligned and afterwards displaced calibration substrate uses first and second measurement systems to calculate a new offset position of the calibration substrate after a second wafer is loaded on the wafer chuck. In a last step, the wafer chuck is driven by a 4axis manipulator stage to the new calibration position from the recent position.

  • Patent number: 7265343
Abstract: The invention is based on an apparatus and a method for calibration of an optoelectronic sensor (3) that at least intermittently also receives UV light. A first response characteristic of the sensor (3) is ascertained by illuminating the sensor (3) with the light of a light source (1, 1a, 1b), varying the light quantity of the light incident onto the sensor (3), determining the magnitude of the electrical output signal of the sensor (3) as a function of the light quantity received by the sensor (3).

  • Patent number: 7264307
Abstract: A motor vehicle component with a guide rail structure (15) which is located at least partially on a sectional part (20) which forms the bearing structure of the vehicle component. To simplify the guide rail structure (15) and make it cheaper, it is provided that the sectional part (20) forms only one part (22) of the guide rail structure (15) and the other part (32) of the guide rail structure (15) is formed by a second sectional part (30) which can be connected to the first sectional part (20). The divided execution makes it possible to form, much more easily, the guideways (24, 25, 26; 33, 34) and cable channels (91) which must otherwise be produced in a complex manner as undercut sectional parts.

  • Patent number: 7261773
Abstract: The invention relates to producing a melt that is as homogeneous as possible, to which fresh material in the form of granulate is continuously supplied. Since the granulate is cooler than the melt, heat sinks form that are especially pronounced when the granulate forms clumps in the melt. Therefore, the invention relates to a means for distributing the granulate. In one aspect, the means are inductors arranged outside the melting crucible that generate an alternating magnetic field in the melt. In this way, electrical currents are induced there that, in turn, cause the material flows. In one aspect, the inductors are arranged and controlled in such a way that a rapid distribution of the granulate is effected and thus its rapid melting. In this way, good homogeneity is achieved, especially in the center of the melt where the removal of the melted material also occurs.

  • Patent number: 7261774
Abstract: This invention is based on the problem of achieving the most planar possible phase boundary extending in the horizontal direction between the still molten material and the material that has already crystallized out in a vertical Bridgman crystal-growing furnace or vertical gradient freeze crystal-growing furnace for crystallizing out the semiconductor melt and doing so at a low cost. Therefore, jacket heaters are provided coaxially with the furnace core containing the crucible and measurement devices for determining radial temperature differences in the space between the jacket heaters and the crucible, whereby the heat output of the jacket heaters is adjusted so that the measured temperature differences become zero. Thus, at least in the planes in which the measurement devices are located, radial heat transport is prevented and a phase boundary that is not curved is implemented.

  • Patent number: 7259880
Abstract: The invention relates to a device and a method by means of which personalized printed items can be produced and printed out. The invention permits a user inexperienced in carrying out research to compile information in accordance with personal search criteria. The information found is automatically adjusted to the dimensions of the printed item set by the user so that said user is able to compile a personalized book containing numerous ample passages without first having to familiarize himself with a search algorithm or data bank structures. The invention is designed especially for use in the non-fiction domain since large volumes of scientific data are already stored in electronically readable data banks. Other applications of the invention include the compilation of sample passages from fiction books or the production of a customized travel guide.

  • Patent number: 7260340
Abstract: In order to be able to supply a rotating transfer roller in a transfer printing station of an electrophotographic printing device with a high voltage, a system and method is proposed that comprises a voltage transfer device with an elastically borne brush, a compensation device with a bushing standing under spring force, and a monitoring device with a Hall switch. For voltage transfer, the brush is pressed onto the voltage connection location of the transfer roller. For compensation of the axial play of the transfer roller, the bushing is pressed onto the bearing of the transfer roller. For monitoring as to whether a transfer roller is connected with the device, the Hall switch is used which checks whether the bushing has been moved or not.

  • Patent number: 7256828
Abstract: The apparatus and method invented are operating upon a digital image signal obtained from an image sensor. The sensor is covered with different colored filters and is only able to record the color transmitted through each specific filter into the photosite or pixel. This type of sensor is known as a color filter array or CFA sensor. The different colored filters are arranged in a predefined pattern across the sensor. To obtain a full color image the missing color information is estimated by a set of weighed values obtained by an inverted gradient function. The set of weighted values is found from the neighboring pixels in the four compass directions, north, east, west and south or is found horizontally and vertically. The surrounding pixels are corrected by the chrominance channel to better fit the center pixel in the luminance channel, prior to using the gradient functions.
