Abstract: In a method and system for transmitting print data in blocks from a transmission unit to a reception unit via a data line by means of channel command words (CCWs), a channel initialization command (unit) is transmitted from the reception unit to the transmission unit for starting the data transmission of a first data block and the data block is transmitted from the transmission unit to the reception unit. The reception unit forwards the received data blocks to a check unit for checking the data integrity (parsing) and promptly sends a transmission confirmation message (Sim Term) to the transmission unit before or during the checking process (parsing), so that a second data block can be transmitted from the transmission unit into an intermediate memory of the reception unit during the checking process (parsing) of the first data block.
Abstract: A device for the testing and monitoring of the function of a shock wave or pressure wave source is provided. The testing and monitoring device is characterized in that a passive non-linear transmission element transforms very short shock wave pulses received by it, the shock wave pulses typically having pulse durations lasting a few microseconds, into a considerably lower frequency range, whose oscillations are then sensed and evaluated.
Abstract: A selector lever for automatic transmission for an automobile has an automatic selector handle in which the horizontal movement of the push button into the housing is transmitted to the rod by means of a deflecting lever which is swivelable around a cylindrical pin. A support lever is connected with the rod by a cylindrical pin. The support lever is supported at the housing and its movement is limited by a distance element.
Abstract: In a vapor fixing device for an electrographic printer or copier, the heated vapor housing is provided such that vapor does not condense at the interior housing walls. A directed stream containing solvent vapor is produced which is directed at a section of the support material.

Abstract: A pressure sensor includes an optical waveguide having an optical fiber with a refractive index n1, located in a fiber guide with a refractive index n3, forming an intermediate region. A medium with a refractive index n2 is located in the intermediate region. The refractive indices correspond to the relation n3>n1>n2. When subjected to a pressure, the fiber guide is pressed against the optical fiber such that the condition for the total reflection required for the normal optical waveguidance in the optical waveguide is no longer fulfilled, and attenuation takes place. The attenuation is evaluated in a corresponding control unit. The pressure sensor is especially provided for an anti-pinch device in the motor vehicle industry.
Abstract: Organosilicone and vinyl ester copolymers free from phase separation are prepared by copolymerizing at least one vinyl ester monomer with organosilicones containing difunctional silicone monomers and optionally a minor amount of monofunctional silicone monomers, in a non-aqueous solvent mixture containing at least one solvent with a transfer coefficient greater than 20·10?4 relative to vinyl acetate.
Abstract: A roof for a convertible vehicle includes first and second roof parts which can be moved by means of a bearing mechanism between a closed position which covers an interior of the vehicle and a lowered position in a rear roof deposition space which exposes the vehicle interior. A locking device is provided for interlocking of the first and roof parts in the closed position of the roof. The locking device has a first closing unit for mutual interlocking of the first and second roof parts and which is coupled to a drive means. The first closing unit has a coupling means to couple to a second closing unit which acts on one of the first and second roof parts and which interlocks the acted upon roof part to a third roof part or to a body part.
Abstract: A method of folding a gas bag for a vehicle occupant restraint system comprises the following steps: unfolding the gas bag between a base and a hold-down, a traction envelope extending around the gas bag and being passed through the hold-down at a first end, a first lead-through of the traction envelope through the hold-down being contoured so as to correspond to that required of the gas bag when folded; pulling out the traction envelope by means of the first end from a space between the base and the hold-down such that the gas bag is pushed together inside the traction envelope. There is further proposed a gas bag folded by such method.

The apparatus further comprises an acceleration/deceleration means (32) containing an electric potential gradient which is oriented substantially parallel to the path of the structured beam and constant over at least a cross-section of the beam.
Abstract: A printer has a printing drum with recesses on the surface thereof into which ink is provided for printing. After printing, any remaining ink is removed at a cleaning station including immersion in a fluid, air jets, or an air suction. The cleaning station and the inking station operate simultaneously.
Abstract: A method and printing system are provided for generation of a printed image, as is a data processing system for the conversion of printing data and a computer program for carrying out the method. On generation of a printed image, at least two adjacent raster blocks of image elements are illuminated with a light source. The surfaces of the raster blocks are charged dependent on the amount of incident light. On illuminating each raster surface, a portion of the light is also incident on the adjacent raster blocks. The photoconducting layer is charged in proportion to the total amount of incident light. The region colored with toner on the subsequent development of the photoconducting layer may be varied almost infinitely by varying the amount of incident light on the first and/or second raster surface, whereupon the line width of printed images is almost infinitely adjustable.
Abstract: An artificial joint (3), particularly for replacing a talocrural joint, including a first primary joint surface (1) that forms an articular fossa (4) particularly for replacing the tibia composed of concave curvatures extending parallel to a primary function plane of the joint (3), which corresponds to the sagittal plane, and a second primary joint surface (2) which cooperates with the first primary joint surface (1) as a component of a condoyle (5) that replaces the talus and has convex curvatures (7,8,9,10) on the primary function plane that are adapted to the first primary joint surface (1).

Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus and a process for the separation of particles from thermally after-treated process offgases which are obtained, in particular, in the surface modification of various substrates in vacuum units. The invention provides, in accordance with its object, an inexpensive and effective way of carrying out the separation of very small solid particles present in thermally after-treated process offgases. The apparatus of the invention is configured so that the process offgases which have been thermally after-treated in combustion chambers are conveyed via a cooler through an agglomeration stage and solid particles present in the after-treated process offgas can be separated off in a scrubbing stage.

Abstract: An artificial joint (1) suitable for use as an endoprosthesis for a human knee joint, having a first joint compartment (2) formed by a first condyle (3) and a first socket (4) and a second joint compartment (5) formed by a second condyle (6) and a second socket (7). The contact surfaces (C) of the respective joint compartments (2, 5) are offset in the main functional plane. To further improve the characteristics of the artificial joint (1), the contact surfaces (C) of the two joint compartments (2, 5) are sloped as a function of the flexion angle such that the surface normals (8, 9) of the contact surfaces (C) have a common point of intersection at every flexion angle. This arrangement of the contact surfaces (C) achieves self-stabilization of the joint (1) both when a rotary motion or torsion and when lateral forces are introduced.
