  • Patent number: 11070319
Abstract: Domestic data are transmitted in the form of data messages from a data source to a memory in an unsynchronized manner in time slots via a freely accessible and accordingly heavily used transmission channel. On account of the interfering influences on the long data messages which occur in this case, the transmission of the data messages must be repeated several times until a data message is received without interference once. A comparator is used to determine a packet error rate from the ratio of the number of data messages received without interference over a certain period to the number of data messages actually transmitted during the period. A predefined packet error rate can be adaptively complied with despite varying transmission circumstances by varying the repeated transmissions per unit time.

  • Patent number: 11071079
Abstract: The present disclosure describes devices, systems, and methods for synchronizing multiple-input/multiple-output (“MIMO”) signals or other signals in telecommunication systems. Some aspects may involve transmitting signals between a head-end unit and remote units of a telecommunication system. A first delay of a signal path between the head-end unit and a first remote unit of the remote units may be determined to be greater than each delay of signal paths between the head-end unit and other remote units. Based on the first delay, the telecommunication system may be configured to delay transmission of additional signals such that the additional signals are simultaneously transmitted to another unit by either the head-end unit or the remote units.

Abstract: Securely deploying a software component to a control device of an industrial control system includes generating a first validation credential and a second validation credential corresponding to the first validation credential. The second credential is installed on the control device. A digital signature or a hash value is generated using the first validation credential and is associated with the software component, which is transmitted with the digital signature or the hash value to the control device. The digital signature or the hash value is validated using the second validation credential. In response to the digital signature or the hash value being valid, the software component is installed on the control device. The first validation credential may be generated and stored within a hardware security module and may be inaccessible from outside of the hardware security module. The second validation credential may be derived from the first validation credential.

  • Patent number: 11055986
Abstract: In one embodiment, a match application identifies an edge corresponding to a road segment based on an observational point specifying an estimated position and an estimated heading. The match application performs search operations on a road network graph based on the estimated position to identify multiple candidate edges. For a first candidate edge, the match application computes a first quality level based on at least a distance between the estimated position and the first candidate edge and an angle between the estimated heading and a direction associated with the first candidate edge. Subsequently, the match application determines that the first quality level indicates that the first candidate edge has a higher quality than any other candidate edge. Finally, the match application transmits the first candidate edge to an application that associates content specified in relation to the estimated position with the first candidate edge.

  • Publication number: 20210197309
Abstract: In order to be able to detect a possible loss of cut during the thermal separation of a workpiece as early as during the separation, the invention proposes a method for detecting an impending loss of cut or a loss of cut that has already occurred, in which energy is input into a cutting region and which comprises the following method steps: a) applying a first alternating signal to the workpiece, b) identifying a second alternating signal caused by the first alternating signal in a measurement electrode spaced apart from the workpiece, c) ascertaining the phase shift between the first and second alternating signal by outputting a phase shift signal, d) comparing the phase shift signal with a prescribed upper limit value and a prescribed lower limit value for the phase shift signal, wherein, when the phase shift signal exceeds the upper limit value or undershoots the lower limit value, the energy input is changed, for example, by stopping the thermal separation of the workpiece.

Abstract: The invention relates to an equipment cabinet for receiving information-technology (IT) and communication-technology components which generate waste heat during operation. Here, the IT and communication-technology components draw in cooling air from the front side of the equipment cabinet for cooling and discharge this air into a hot-air region after having been heated. The air is guided out of the hot-air region and cooled by a cooling device comprising fans. Furthermore, sensors are provided for determining the pressure differential between the pressure in the hot-air region and in the surroundings of the equipment cabinet. In addition, a method is described for regulating a cooling device in an equipment cabinet of this kind.
