  • Patent number: 6324822
Abstract: A crop stream passes longitudinally at a feed velocity varying relative to a predetermined feed velocity in a harvesting machine between conveyor elements which transversely compress the stream and at least one of which is transversely deflectable. A stone in the stream is detected by continuously producing an output corresponding to the transverse deflection of the one conveyor element per unit of time, continuously monitoring the feed velocity and producing an output corresponding to actual feed velocity, and establishing for the predetermined feed velocity a predetermined threshold value for the transverse-deflection output. In addition for actual feed velocities different from the predetermined feed velocity respective threshold values are established that are equal to the predetermined threshold value multiplied by the quotient of the actual feed velocity squared divided by the predetermined feed velocity squared.

  • Publication number: 20010045333
Abstract: A hydrokinetic torque converter is provided with a lockup clutch wherein the piston and other constituents of the lockup clutch are adequately cooled during each stage of operation of the torque converter and its clutch. The piston of the lockup clutch and/or the component which cooperates with the piston to transmit torque from the housing directly to the turbine of the torque converter is provided with a friction lining which establishes a portion of the path for the flow of fluid coolant between the fluid-filled compartments at opposite sides of the piston. The rate of fluid flow between the compartments is regulated by one or more adjustable valves which are carried by the housing of the torque converter and/or by the piston of the lockup clutch.

  • Patent number: 6324353
Abstract: In a multifunctional printing method and printing system, printed material is checked, verified and tracked. For that purpose different test equipments are located in-line with a printing line. Magnetic information being printed by a printing station onto the recording carrier using magnetic ink character readable toner may be in-line tested by a magnetic test equipment, which reads information from the magnetic recording zone on the carrier. Optical information may be tested by an in-line mounted optical test equipment, respectively. Further in-line test equipment is proposed such as a laser bar code scanner and an address reader. The printing line may have additional devices such as print preprocessing unwinders or print postprocessing stackers, folders or cutters.

  • Patent number: 6321891
Abstract: A hydrokinetic torque converter in the power train between the engine and the wheels of a motor vehicle has a rotary engine-driven housing which is of one piece with a pump and contains a rotary turbine having a hub which drives the input shaft of a transmission. A lockup clutch can be engaged, either entirely or with slip, to transmit torque from the housing or from the pump to the hub of the turbine. Such clutch can employ flat or conical friction linings and/or friction surfaces, for example, a friction lining on the shell of the turbine and a friction surface on a wall of the housing. The shell of the turbine in the torque converter employing such clutch is movable axially to advance the friction lining into or from engagement with the friction surface. Alternatively, the lockup clutch can be installed in a torus which is defined by the turbine and the pump of the torque converter, and such clutch can be cooled by one or more streams of a hydraulic fluid.

  • Publication number: 20010042979
Abstract: The invention relates to a gas bag module comprising a gas bag with a gas bag wall, the latter including a front wall which faces an occupant to be restrained and which has a center section, and including a rear wall with an inflation opening to connect up a gas generator. The gas bag module also comprises a fastening which holds the center section in a fully inflated state of the gas bag fastened to the module and, upon inflation of the gas bag, prevents the center section from a free movement towards outside the module, so that a depression is formed by the center section. The gas bag module further comprises a module covering which is opened in a case of restraint for an emergence of the gas bag, the module covering having an annular, predetermined outlet opening which surrounds the fastening. The module covering has a holding section encircled by the outlet opening, and an emblem being provided adjoining the holding section.

  • Patent number: 6318051
Abstract: In a process and a device for automatically commissioning singular individually packaged products (1), especially a single pill, from a supply station (2) with a plurality of containers, prepackaged, preselected, flat, individually packaged product packs (“blister packs”) of the same type are arranged in stacks in assigned containers in the form of essentially vertical storage shafts (3). A blister pack (4) of a singular individually packaged product (1) to be commissioned is displaced into a lateral dispensing position (E) located outside the stack, and a receiving tray (5) is positioned under it. A dispensing unit (6) assigned to the storage shafts (3) with a dispensing finger (7) is then positioned above the individually packaged product (1) to be commissioned, which is in the dispensing position (E), and the dispensing finger (7) is moved downward toward an abutment (8) to separate the singular individually packaged product from the rest of the blister pack.

  • Patent number: 6319006
Abstract: A method for producing a drill assistance device for a tooth implant includes the process steps of, initially the taking of an x-ray picture of the jaw and the compilation of a corresponding measured data record; then a three-dimensional, optical measurement of the visible surfaces of the jaw and of the teeth and the compilation of a corresponding measured data record. The measured data records from the x-ray picture and the measured data records from the three-dimensional, optical image are correlated with each other. Based on the information that is now available the type and position of the implant relative to the adjacent teeth is planned and a drill template is produced which is attached to the neighboring teeth, thus making the exact drilling of the implant pilot hole possible.

  • Patent number: 6318916
Abstract: A method and a control for a drive which is devoid of a sprocket feed and located in an electrographic printer which outputs information on a striplike recording medium divided up into pages. It is possible to determine in a start mode whether perforated or non-perforated paper has been inserted into the printer. A recording medium with marginal perforation is initially conveyed in steps according to a control grid until it fits tightly into a larger conveyor grid which corresponds to a fraction of the distance between perforations. Subsequently, the recording medium is conveyed in normal operating mode in steps according to the conveyor grid.
