A console communicatively coupled to the RFID emitter can determine, record, and analyze procedural or usage information about the medical device. Further information about the medical device can be encoded within the response signal and provided to the console. Console settings can be automatically updated based on the information within the response signal. Additional modalities are also contemplated including optical image recognition of medical device kits. Further AR viewers can provide image overlays to guide a user in correct procedure. Procedural compliance can be automatically recorded and monitored.

The medical device may be an introducer wire, a guidewire, a stylet, a stylet within a needle, a needle, or a catheter.

The shaving depth is determined by the differential between: (1) the distance from the cable channel to the bottom surface of the blade holder; and (2) the distance from the control surface to the bottom surface of the blade holder. The handle is secured to the blade holder and extends along the central axis, allowing an operator's hand to be positioned directly over the blade during a cut, apply a downward pressure on the cable to set the blade and then move the tool in a direction parallel to the cable length.

    Abstract: Backup data is leveraged to determine whether primary data has been encrypted by malware. The disclosed approach does not rely on recognizing particular malware instances or malware provenance, and thus can be applied to any body of data. Even a novel and previously unknown malware attack can be detected in this way. An illustrative data storage management system analyzes secondary copies it created over time, applies a multi-factor analysis to data recovered from the secondary copies and, based on the analysis, infers whether the primary data from which the secondary copies were created may be encrypted. The present approach uses successive versions of backup copies to find indicia of malware encryption, rather than trying to trace or identify the malware itself. Indicia of entropy correlate highly with encryption, such as encryption performed by malware attacks. Conversely, indicia of similarity correlate highly with lack of encryption of successive versions of documents.
