  • Patent number: 12339747
Abstract: Presented herein are systems and methods for backing up and restoring related backup data stored in different cloud storage tiers in a cloud storage environment. Backup data generated during a backup job is stored to different cloud storage tiers based on the type of data and a storage policy comprising designations of a first cloud storage tier and a second cloud storage tier. Backup metadata and index data is stored in the designated first cloud storage tier and backup payload data is stored in the designated second cloud storage tier. Designations of the storage tiers are based on the attributes associated with each tier of cloud storage. During restore, the backup payload data is recalled from the second storage tier into the first storage tier where it is used to restore to the destination client or customer.

  • Patent number: 12340190
Abstract: According to a computing method a compiler determines a recompute node included in a dataflow application and a checkpoint tensor produced by the recompute node. The compiler determines a recompute cost to recompute the checkpoint tensor, and a memory cost to checkpoint the checkpoint tensor in a memory. Based on the recompute cost and/or the memory cost, the compiler determines a solution cost and compares the solution cost to a solution threshold. Based on comparing the solution cost to the solution threshold, the compiler determines a checkpoint solution to execute the dataflow application. The checkpoint solution can comprise recomputing or checkpointing the checkpoint tensor. In some implementations, the compiler can determine a recompute ratio of the recompute cost to the memory cost and can compare the recompute ratio to the solution threshold. A computer program product and a computing system can implement aspects of the method.

  • Patent number: 12341384
Abstract: A retention structure can be created using two or more different materials (e.g., one magnetic material, and one non-magnetic material) as a composite structure. The retention structure can include a cylindrical hoop comprising one or more one or magnetic regions tangentially alternating with one or more non-magnetic regions configured to surround and retain a plurality of magnets to a rotor, wherein the one or more magnetic regions are aligned with each one of the plurality of magnets and the one or more non-magnetic regions are aligned with one or more spaces between the plurality of magnets on the rotor. The magnetic material allows flux from the permanent magnets to flow through to the stators and the non-magnetic sections reduce leakage of magnetic flux to adjoining permanent magnets through use of non-magnetic materials. The retention structure can be fabricated using a hot isostatic press process.

  • Patent number: 12336900
Abstract: An apparatus includes a flexible container and a port. The container includes a first layer coupled to a second layer to define a storage volume within which a tissue specimen can be contained. The first layer has a first stiffness and the second layer has a second stiffness. An edge of the first layer is spaced apart from an edge of the second layer to define an opening into the storage volume. The edges of the first and second layer form a peelable seal that hermetically seals the storage volume such that the first layer can be peeled away from the second layer to expose the storage volume. The port is coupled to the flexible container and allows fluid communication between the storage volume and an external volume.
