  • Patent number: 12357794
Abstract: Embodiments disclosed herein are directed to catheter placement systems including distally extendable support devices. When placing elongate catheters advanced insertion systems are required to maintain a “touch-free” insertion. Further longer needles are desirable to access deeper veins or penetrate deeper surface tissues. Distally extendable support devices provide columnar support to one of the elongate catheter or the needle to prevent buckling or kinking of the catheter, and maintain the needle tip within a predetermined bending arm distance. This prevents the user from contacting one of the needle or the catheter directly to provide additional support, maintaining a “touch-free” insertion.

  • Patent number: 12359964
Abstract: A method is provided for monitoring optical cable for disturbance events by providing dual monitoring systems where optical signals are received from at least one optical fiber of the cable which are modified by disturbance events. Two separate and distinct algorithms are applied to the received optical signals to generate first and second outputs related to the disturbance event where in a control system information from the first and second outputs is used to determine if an alarm should be issued. The monitoring systems can use a single DAS system and operate on the same data independently preferably using one algorithm which uses ZONE processes to obtain data about different zones in the fiber. Alternatively two DAS systems can be used, one DAS system and one ZONE system or two ZONE systems. In all cases weather data can be used to assist the two algorithms in determining the presence of false alarms.

  • Patent number: 12358831
Abstract: A cleaving assembly and a method for cleaving a glass body having a face at a desired angle greater than 0 degrees are disclosed. The assembly comprises a laser device for emitting a laser beam, a rotating device, and a positioning fixture. The rotating device has a head that rotates about a central axis that is orthogonal to the laser beam. The positioning fixture is operatively mounted to the head and centered axially along the central axis and is also rotatably driven by the rotating device. The positioning fixture has a tapered surface that is transverse to the central axis and that supports the glass body at a predetermined angle relative to the central axis. Rotation of the positioning fixture about the central axis when the glass body is exposed to the laser beam, cleaves the face of the glass body at the desired angle due to the glass body being supported transverse to the central axis.

  • Patent number: 12361816
Abstract: A system for remote user monitoring includes a user monitoring device and a controller. The controller receives sensor data from the user monitoring device and updates stored user data accordingly. Upon confirmation of an emergency associated with a particular user, the controller generates an emergency event code, associates the code with the particular user, and sends the code to a monitoring operator to provide to emergency dispatch. When receiving a user data access request including the emergency event code from an emergency dispatcher, the controller only provides user data associated with the particular user when determining that the emergency event code received from the emergency dispatcher is active. The user monitoring device may store an on-shift configuration specifying which information to send to the controller during an on-shift mode and an off-shift configuration specifying which information to send during an off-shift mode, and may dynamically change modes at different times.

  • Publication number: 20250222398
Abstract: In some embodiments, a system for extraction of carbon dioxide (CO2) from air is provided. In some embodiments, the system is configured to operate in at least two phases, a first absorption phase where CO2 is adsorbed from an air stream by the system, and a second regeneration phase where adsorbed CO2 is released and removed from the system using a vacuum. During the adsorption phase, air flows through a first chamber, which allows CO2 to be captured by an adsorbent material therein. During a regeneration phase, the first chamber is evacuated, causing captured CO2 to be released into an exhaust stream collected by a vacuum pump. In some embodiments, the system and/or controller is configured and/or programmed so that the regeneration phase is performed substantially without external heat or without substantially elevating the temperature of the adsorbent.

  • Publication number: 20250225816
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a method and system for performing privacy-preserving human motion data management. In one aspect, a human-motion-data-managing system first receives, at a local vision sensor, a sequence of raw video images. Next, for each video image in the raw video images, the local vision sensor detects a first person in the video image and subsequently extracts a privacy-preserving human representation of the detected first person from the video image, wherein the privacy-preserving human representation does not include personal identifiable information (PII). Next, the local vision sensor combines a sequence of the extracted privacy-preserving human representations of the detected first person from the raw video images to form a motion sequence of the detected first person. The local vision sensor subsequently transmits the motion sequence to a cloud server in place of raw images of the detected first person, whereby preserving the privacy of the detected first person.

  • Publication number: 20250223659
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to enzymatic cascade reactions for achieving better sensitivity in detecting a target nucleic acid sequence. Several aspects of the disclosure relate to a reaction master mix comprising four major components: a CRISPR enzyme, a guide RNA (gRNA), an aptamer (e.g., an inhibiting aptamer or an activating aptamer) and a “signaling” (i.e., reporter) enzyme. The aptamer interacts with the signaling enzyme and forms a complex, resulting in, e.g., inhibited signaling enzyme activity. When a target is present in the reaction mix, the Cas/guideRNA system becomes activated and preferentially collaterally cleave(s) all nucleic acids in the solution, including the aptamer. Once aptamer gets cleaved, the signaling enzyme is free to produce a signal. In the presence of a substrate, such signaling enzyme activity produces a robust signal that significantly improves the limit-of-detection of other techniques in the art.
