  • Patent number: 8762552
Abstract: A SAN management software program controls access to resources in the SAN by associating individual users with one or more administration domains. A user that is associated with an administration domain that includes a port of a SAN switch can configure or otherwise access the port but is restricted from accessing ports outside of that administration domain. Likewise, access to other sub-fabric resources can be restricted and allowed to individual users and users in specific roles or groups. In this manner, the SAN administrative user has very specific control over which users can access which SAN resources and what level of access these users are granted.

  • Patent number: 8760343
Abstract: A global navigation system includes a first navigation receiver located in a rover and a second navigation receiver located in a base station. Single differences of measurements of satellite signals received at the two receivers are calculated and compared to single differences derived from an observation model. Anomalous measurements are detected and removed prior to performing computations for determining the output position of the rover and resolving integer ambiguities. Detection criteria are based on the residuals between the calculated and the derived single differences. For resolving integer ambiguities, computations based on Cholesky information Kalman filters and Householder transformations are advantageously applied. Changes in the state of the satellite constellation from one epoch to another are included in the computations.

  • Patent number: 8762760
Abstract: An apparatus consisting of a digital communication channel comprised of a multiplicity of lanes where data is striped across the lanes in a predefined sequence. Each lane has the ability to be powered down or powered up in response to the amount of data being held in a transmit buffer at one end of the communication channel. The method consists of monitoring the amount of data being held in the transmit buffer; making the decision of how many lanes are required based on the amount of data; sending signals to cause the required number of lanes to be powered down or powered up; and performing the required power down or power up action at the particular transmitter and receiver.

  • Patent number: 8759791
Abstract: Naphthalene, benzene, toluene, xylene, and other volatile organic compounds have been identified as serious health hazards. This is especially true for personnel working with JP8 jet fuel and other fuels containing naphthalene as well as other hazardous volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Embodiments of the invention are directed to methods and apparatus for near-real-time in-situ detection and accumulated dose measurement of exposure to naphthalene vapor and other hazardous gaseous VOCs. The methods and apparatus employ excitation of fluorophors native or endogenous to compounds of interest using light sources emitting in the ultraviolet below 300 nm and measurement of native fluorescence emissions in distinct wavebands above the excitation wavelength. The apparatus of some embodiments are cell-phone-sized sensor/dosimeter “badges” to be worn by personnel potentially exposed to naphthalene or other hazardous VOCs.

  • Patent number: 8761899
Abstract: An MRI compatible electrode circuit construct is provided. The construct includes at least three filter components constructed from a continuous or non-continuous electrode wire. One filter component may be a resonant LC filter proximate an electrode/wire interface. A second filter component may be a resonant LC filter adjacent a proximal termination of the wire construct. The filters resolve the issue of insufficient attenuation by effectively blocking the RF induced current on the wire from exiting the wire through the electrode and at the terminal or proximal end. The third filter component may include one or more non-resonant filter(s) positioned along the length of the electrode wire that resolve(s) the issue of excessive heating of the resonant LC filters by significantly attenuating the current induced on the wire before it reaches the resonant LC filters.

  • Patent number: 8762268
Abstract: A system that processes transactions, in response to a transaction using a financial instrument, receives an identity of a financial instrument, such as a card hash. The system creates an anonymous account that corresponds to the financial instrument, and stores line level data associated with the transaction in the anonymous account. Future transactions that use the same financial instrument are also stored in the anonymous account. As a result, all transactions can be linked to the same user.

  • Patent number: 8762335
Abstract: A method and system for controlling access to stored data is provided. The storage access control system leverages a preexisting security infrastructure of a system to inform the proper access control that should be applied to data stored outside of its original location, such as a data backup. The storage access control system may place similar access control restrictions on the backup files that existed on the original files. In this way, the backed up data is given similar protection as that of the original data.
