  • Patent number: 8762456
Abstract: Technology is disclosed herein for a cloud based file system that facilitates storing data beyond a physical storage limit of a computing device. In some embodiments, the file system stores the metadata of the data in a local storage of the device and the data itself in a cloud storage. Upon accessing a data object on the device, the device obtains the data from the cloud storage and presents it to the user as if the content data is stored locally. The device identifies the data objects that are likely to be accessed by the user, pre-fetches the content of these data objects and stores them in a cache locally. Prefetching profiles are used to identify the data objects that are likely to be used based on a usage pattern of the data objects. Different prefetching profiles may be generated for multiple devices associated with the user.

  • Patent number: 8758377
Abstract: The invention provides a rotational atherectomy device having, in various embodiments, a flexible, elongated, rotatable drive shaft with at least one flexible or inflexible eccentric enlarged abrading and cutting head attached thereto which comprises an abrasive surface. When placed against stenotic tissue and rotated at high speed, the eccentric nature of the abrading and cutting head moves along an orbital path, opening the lesion to a diameter larger than the resting diameter of the enlarged abrading and cutting head. Preferably the abrading and cutting head has a center of mass spaced radially from the rotational axis of the drive shaft, facilitating the ability of the device to travel along an orbital path. The abrading and cutting head comprises proximal and/or distal radiused surfaces that facilitate cutting difficult stenosis material while minimizing trauma to the vessel.

  • Patent number: 8760958
Abstract: To handle multiple concurrent memory requests, a dual-port six transistor (6T) SRAM bit cell is proposed. The dual-port 6T SRAM cell uses independent word lines and bit lines such that the true side and the false side of the bit cell may be accessed independently. Single-ended reads allow the memory system to handle two independent read operations concurrently. Single-ended writes are enabled by adjusting the VDD power voltage supplied to a memory cell when writes are performed such that a single word line and bit line pair can be used write either a logical “0” or logical “1” into either side of the bit cell. Thus, single-ended operation with a voltage assist allows a memory system to handle two concurrent write operations. A write buffer may be added to the memory system to prevent conflicts and thus enable concurrent read operations and write operations in a single cycle.

  • Patent number: 8758396
Abstract: Apparatus and methods are provided for use in sealing a vascular puncture site. The invention comprises an introducer sheath with an integrated closure component. The closure component includes a fastener and an advanceable, deformable clip having a delivery configuration in which opposing sides do not contact one another, and a deployed configuration, in which the fastener causes opposing sides of the deformable clip to close towards one another. The clip is advanced along the sheath until it pierces opposing sides of a vessel wall at a puncture site. The clip is then deformed with the fastener to draw opposing sides of the puncture together, and the sheath is withdrawn to seal the wound. The clip and fastener preferably are bioabsorbable.

  • Patent number: 8761900
Abstract: An MRI compatible electrode circuit construct is provided. The construct includes at least two filter components constructed from an electrode wire. One filter component may be a resonant LC filter at or near an electrode/wire interface that resolves the issue of insufficient attenuation by effectively blocking the RF induced current on the wire from exiting the wire through the electrode. The second filter component may include one or more non-resonant filter(s) positioned along the length of the electrode wire that resolve(s) the issue of excessive heating of the resonant LC filter by significantly attenuating the current induced on the wire before it reaches the resonant LC filter. The non-resonant filter(s) may also attenuate the RF current reflected from the resonant LC filter thereby resolving the issue of the strong reflected power from the resonant filter and the associated dielectric heating.

  • Patent number: 8762123
Abstract: A system and method for performing circuit simulation is described. The present approach provides methods and systems that create reusable and independent measurements for use with circuit simulators. Also disclosed are parallelizable measurements having looping constructs that can be run without interference between parallel iterations. Reusability is enhanced by having parameterized measurements. Revisions and history of the operating parameters of circuit designs subject to simulation are tracked. Mechanisms are provided that allow for viewing, measurement or other manipulation of signals at specific locations in a circuit design for simulation, such as parameters that include observation points which are implemented using probes. One approach to executing a measurement is via a controllable and flexible control statement, which in one embodiment is the “run” statement. Improved interfaces for viewing, controlling, and manipulating simulations and simulation results are also provided.

  • Patent number: 8760005
Abstract: A control method of an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) for extending a discharge time under a no-load condition instructs a battery of the UPS to discharge by repeating an alternate on and off cycle when the UPS enters a battery mode and after a no-load condition continues over a period of time so that the UPS alternately and repeatedly discharges and stops discharging based on the alternate on and off cycle, and detects if the no-load condition is not present during the discharging period. If not present, the battery is restored to continuously discharge. Additionally, the discharge voltage can be reduced during the discharging period to alleviate the power discharged under the no-load condition. Accordingly, the control method can reduce to discharge under the no-load condition and further extend a discharge time under a no-load condition.
