  • Patent number: 8719737
Abstract: Some embodiments of the invention provide a method for automatically, accurately, and efficiently identifying double patterning (DP) loop violations in an IC design layout. The method of some embodiments identifies DP loop violations in a manner that eliminates false identification of DP loop violations without missing DP loop violations that should be identified. The method of some embodiments also generates a marker for each identified DP loop violation to indicate that a set of shapes associated with the marker forms the DP loop and displays the marker in the design layout.

  • Patent number: 8719809
Abstract: Systems and methods for providing point in time rollback and un-installation of software within computer networks are disclosed. The system comprises a plurality of elements which perform data migration operations and a rollback and un-installation manager which monitors the elements and software installations. Upon detection of a software installation, the rollback and un-installation manager identifies the installation, obtains records of the computer network files modified by the installation, and causes copies of the modified files to be generated. At future dates, the records and copies are utilized to return the computer network to a state prior to the installation. In this manner the risks associated with removal single or multiple updates are greatly reduced.

  • Patent number: 8718219
Abstract: Methods and systems for non-intrusively detecting the existence of fissile materials in a container via the measurement of energetic prompt neutrons are disclosed. The methods and systems use the unique nature of the prompt neutron energy spectrum from photo-fission arising from the emission of neutrons from almost fully accelerated fragments to unambiguously identify fissile material. The angular distribution of the prompt neutrons from photo-fission and the energy distribution correlated to neutron angle relative to the photon beam are used to distinguish odd-even from even-even nuclei undergoing photo-fission. The independence of the neutron yield curve (yield as a function of electron beam energy or photon energy) on neutron energy also is also used to distinguish photo-fission from other processes such as (?, n). Different beam geometries are used to detect localized samples of fissile material and also fissile materials dispersed as small fragments or thin sheets over broad regions.

  • Patent number: 8719771
Abstract: Disclosed is a method, system, and computer program product that reduces the size of a failing test. A tree is created from the test's programming code, where the tree represents the syntactical and the semantic bounds between the programming code elements. By analyzing this tree and iteratively pruning the irrelevant sub-trees it is possible to eliminate many non necessary parts of the code, and recreate a new legal test, which represents the same error, but is potentially much smaller and therefore easier to understand and debug.

  • Patent number: 8718400
Abstract: A method for identifying modified sections of a drawing region and selecting at least one modified drawing region section to transmit to a remote computer. A local computer can execute a prioritization module that can identify a first modified drawing region section and a second modified drawing region section. Each of the first and second modified drawing region section can have a corresponding priority. The prioritization module can determine whether the first priority of the first section is greater than the second priority of the second section and can select the greater priority. The local computer can then transmit the selected modified drawing region section that has the greatest priority to a remote computer that communicates with the local computer over a virtual channel.

  • Patent number: 8714626
Abstract: A vehicle interior component including a decorative covering includes a seam formed therein. The seam is formed in a single sheet of covering material while having the appearance of being formed by sewing two separate pieces of covering material together. The seam includes lines of functional stitching and decorative stitching and can simulate the appearance of a French seam. Sewing the decorative stitching into the single sheet of covering material can allow symmetric thread patterns to be more readily formed as part of the finished seam, and a seam can be located anywhere along the surface of a sheet of covering material to achieve a cut-and-sew appearance.

  • Patent number: 8719761
Abstract: Testing of memories is done using an optimized memory built-in-self-test (MBIST) approach, including the generation of compact models for memory. Cost functions are constructed from estimated parameters affecting MBIST, and a user is able to assign relative weights to the parameters. Estimated parameters include MBIST area, wiring congestion, and timing overhead, as well as power consumption and timing. The cost functions are minimized using optimization techniques, resulting in an optimized grouping of memory devices and an optimized schedule for MBIST testing. The estimated parameters may be derived from a compact model constructed from data experimentally-derived from various memory devices. This approach allows a circuit designer to generate and revise groupings and schedules prior to running a full design flow, saving time and cost, while still achieving high-quality results.
