Abstract: A system for repairing a mitral valve: a first cylinder; and, a clip having an axial length and comprising a second cylinder having a wall and an internal bore. The wall defines an opening extending along the axial length, the opening being sized for at least two requirements: (a) the opening is large enough to receive the first cylinder when the first cylinder is positioned parallel with and adjacent to the second cylinder and the first cylinder is moved in a direction, through the opening. The wall of the second cylinder is sized to bend elastically to widen the opening so as to receive the first cylinder; and (b) the opening is small enough to prevent the first cylinder from falling out of the bore.

  • Publication number: 20180245678
Abstract: A wave generator for a strain wave gearing makes a flexible externally toothed gear to flex into an elliptical shape and mesh with rigid internally toothed gears, and makes meshing positions of the flexible externally toothed gear with the both gears to move in a circumferential direction. On the inner side of a rigid plug of the wave generator, a plug support ring is secured and integrated. The rigid plug is formed from an iron-based material, and the plug support ring is formed from a high-rigidity material that is more rigid than the iron-based material. Since deformation of the rigid plug is suppressed, the wave generator provided with a large hollow part can be obtained.

  • Patent number: 10061535
Abstract: A method and system for reducing storage requirements and speeding up storage operations by reducing the storage of redundant data includes receiving a request that identifies one or more data objects to which to apply a storage operation. For each data object, the storage system determines if the data object contains data that matches another data object to which the storage operation was previously applied. If the data objects do not match, then the storage system performs the storage operation in a usual manner. However, if the data objects do match, then the storage system may avoid performing the storage operation.

  • Patent number: 10062009
Abstract: Data from one or more sensors is input to a workflow and fragmented to produce HyperFragments. The HyperFragments of input data are processed by a plurality of Distributed Experts, who make decisions about what is included in the HyperFragments or add details relating to elements included therein, producing tagged HyperFragments, which are maintained as tuples in a Semantic Database. Algorithms are applied to process the HyperFragments to create an event definition corresponding to a specific activity. Based on related activity included in historical data and on ground truth data, the event definition is refined to produce a more accurate event definition. The resulting refined event definition can then be used with the current input data to more accurately detect when the specific activity is being carried out.

  • Patent number: 10060149
Abstract: A method for creating a tapered spiral welded conical structure where the overall shape of the cone is first graphically slit axially and unwrapped, and then a series of construction arcs and lines are created to form the edge lines of a strip that can then be wrapped (rolled) to form a tapered conical structure. The edges of the spirally wound strip can be welded together, and a very large conical structure can thus be achieved. Various construction options are presented from a constant width strip to strip made from straight segments. Equations are given for the formation of the strips to enable those skilled in the art of spiral welded tubing to practice the invention.

  • Patent number: 10063567
Abstract: A method of detecting aberrant behavior in a software application is described. The method includes instantiating replicated applications on computing devices using identical initial setting. Each replicated application is a replicated instance of the software application. Information associated with a first API call from the first replicated application, and information associated with a second API call from the second replicated application is received. The information includes a call identifier of the API call and a digest. The call identifier is unique during the lifetime of the replicated application issuing it and is identical across the replicated applications. If the first and second call identifiers are identical, the method determines whether the first and second digests match. The method also includes, in response to the first and second digests not matching, signaling that aberrant behavior has occurred. Apparatus and computer readable media are also described.
