  • Patent number: 10053295
Abstract: A parts organizer receives small parts such as mechanical fasteners in bulk form and organizes a plurality of the parts in a common desired orientation. Unoriented parts are received on top of a parts holder and subsequently moved along an upper side of the parts holder by an agitator. A plurality of receptacles are formed in the parts holder and open on its upper side. Each receptacle is configured to hold one of the parts in the desired orientation and may include a lead-in feature to help reorient the parts as they encounter the receptacles during movement. A retaining wall operates to contain unheld parts at the upper side of the parts holder during a parts organizing step and to allow the agitator to clear unheld parts away from the upper side of the parts holder during a purge step.

  • Patent number: 10053629
Abstract: Ultra-clean char is used to generate hydrocarbons and/or electricity in a clean environmentally friendly process. The ultra-clean char is produced by pyrolizing organic matter, such as coal or various organic waste. The pyrolized organic matter may be combusted in the presence of oxygen to produce heat, which can be used to generate electricity in a conventional boiler/generator system. Further, pyrolized organic matter can be combusted in the presence of carbon dioxide and further processed to produce various hydrocarbons. In other embodiments, the ultra-clean char may be subjected to an extraction process for capturing valuable rare earth elements.

  • Patent number: 10055528
Abstract: Disclosed are methods, systems, and articles of manufacture for implementing engineering change orders (ECOs) with figure groups and virtual hierarchies. These techniques identify a schematic design and a layout having at least one virtual hierarchy of an electronic design. These techniques then implement an ECO to modify at least one layout circuit component design in a figure group, without considering a physical hierarchical structure of the layout. These techniques further check the figure group based in part or in whole upon one or more criteria and update one or more data structures for the at least one virtual hierarchy and the figure group based in part or in whole upon the ECO.

  • Patent number: 10052229
Abstract: A system and method for treating ophthalmic target tissue, including a light source for generating a beam of light, a beam delivery system that includes a scanner for generating patterns, and a controller for controlling the light source and delivery system to create a dosimetry pattern of the light beam on the ophthalmic target tissue. One or more dosage parameters of the light beam vary within the dosimetry pattern, to create varying exposures on the target tissue. A visualization device observes lesions formed on the ophthalmic target tissue by the dosimetry pattern. The controller selects dosage parameters for the treatment beam based upon the lesions resulting from the dosimetry pattern, either automatically or in response to user input, so that a desired clinical effect is achieved by selecting the character of the lesions as determined by the dosimetry pattern lesions.

  • Publication number: 20180229056
Abstract: Reconstruction of projection images of a CBCT scan is performed by generating simulated projection data, comparing the simulated projection data to the projection images of the CBCT scan, determining a residual volume based on the comparison, and using the residual volume to determine an accurate reconstructed volume. The reconstructed volume can be used to segment a tumor (and potentially one or more organs) and align the tumor to a planning volume (e.g., from a CT scan) to identify changes, such as shape of the tumor and proximity of the tumor to an organ. These changes can be used to update a radiation therapy procedure, such as by altering a radiation treatment plan and fine-tuning a patient position.

  • Patent number: 10051210
Abstract: Various techniques are provided for binning (e.g., clustering or grouping) two or more infrared sensors of a focal plane array (FPA) to permit configuration of the FPA to various dimensions and/or pixel sizes. For example, according to one or more embodiments, switchable interconnects may be implemented within the FPA, wherein the switchable interconnects comprise a plurality of switches adapted to selectively connect or disconnect infrared sensors of the FPA to/from column lines, row lines, and between each other. The switchable interconnects may also comprise another set of switches adapted to selectively connect adjacent column lines together. By selectively opening and closing appropriate switches of the switchable interconnects, two or more neighboring infrared sensors may be binned together to form a binned detector. Advantageously, the binned detector, along with the array and associated circuitry, may provide increased sensitivity, reduced power consumption, and/or increased frame rate.

  • Patent number: 10045486
Abstract: A device and related system is disclosed for detachably mounting to the teeth of a wheel rake to support each individual tooth preventing premature tooth breakage. The device and system for mitigating stress on an individual wheel rake tooth includes a plurality of individual supports detachably mounted to two or more wheel rake teeth. The individual supports are detachably coupled to two adjacent individual supports via elongated openings at each end of the individual support. When detachably mounted to the wheel rake teeth at a radius inside the tip of the teeth, the supports act to distribute the stress on an individual wheel rake tooth among adjacent wheel rake teeth as the tooth impacts an object.
