  • Patent number: 10034070
Abstract: An array of columns and rows of host server devices is mounted in a row of racks. Each device has a host processor and an exact-match packet switching integrated circuit. Packets are switched within the system using exact-match flow tables that are provisioned by a central controller. Each device is coupled by a first cable to a device to its left, by a second cable to a device to its right, by a third cable to a device above, and by a fourth cable to a device below. In one example, substantially all cables that are one meter or less in length are non-optical cables, whereas substantially all cables that are seven meters or more in length are optical cables. Advantageously, each device of a majority of the devices has four and only four cable ports, and connects only to non-optical cables, and the connections involve no optical transceiver.

  • Patent number: 10033050
Abstract: Battery fretting or corrosion in a key fob is reduced or even eliminated by firmly holding the fob's battery against electrical contacts and holding the battery away from key fob components that are subject to deformation or deflection. Reduced battery movement relative to electrical contacts thus reduces or eliminates abrasion of the battery's electrically conductive surfaces.

  • Patent number: 10032119
Abstract: An ordering system receives release requests to release packets, where each packet has an associated sequence number, but the system only releases packets sequentially in accordance with the sequence numbers. The system includes a Ticket Order Release Command Dispatcher And Sequence Number Translator (TORCDSNT) and a plurality of Ticket Order Release Bitmap Blocks (TORBBs). The TORBBs are stored in one or more transactional memories. In response to receiving release requests, the TORCDSNT issues atomic ticket release commands to the transactional memory or memories, and uses the multiple TORBBs in a chained manner to implement a larger overall ticket release bitmap than could otherwise be supported by any one of the TORBBs individually. Special use of one flag bit position in each TORBB facilitates this chaining. In one example, the system is implemented in a network flow processor so that the TORBBs are maintained in transactional memories spread across the chip.

  • Patent number: 10033638
Abstract: An integrated circuit includes a processor and an exact-match flow table structure. A first packet is received onto the integrated circuit. The packet is determined to be of a first type. As a result of this determination, execution by the processor of a first sequence of instructions is initiated. This execution causes bits of the first packet to be concatenated and modified in a first way, thereby generating a first Flow Id. The first Flow Id is an exact-match for the Flow Id of a first stored flow entry. A second packet is received. It is of a first type. As a result, a second sequence of instructions is executed. This causes bits of the second packet to be concatenated and modified in a second way, thereby generating a second Flow Id. The second Flow Id is an exact-match for the Flow Id of a second stored flow entry.

  • Patent number: 10033750
Abstract: In a malware detection device, first characters in a network traffic flow are compared with a plurality of entries within a ternary content addressable memory (TCAM), the plurality of entries including a first entry that constitutes a first segment of a malware signature. In response to an output from the first TCAM indicating that the first characters match the first entry, a variable-character expression engine determines whether second characters in the network traffic flow match a first variable-length regular expression, the variable-length regular expression corresponding to a second segment of the malware signature. A comparand value is generated that includes third characters in the network traffic flow and an expression-match value that indicates whether the second characters match the first variable-length regular expression. The TCAM compares the first comparand value with the plurality of entries therein as part of a determination whether the network traffic flow contains the malware signature.

  • Patent number: 10030917
Abstract: Systems according to the present disclosure provide one or more surfaces that function as heat or power radiating surfaces for which at least a portion of the radiating surface includes or is composed of “fractal cells” placed sufficiently closed close together to one another so that a surface (plasmonic) wave causes near replication of current present in one fractal cell in an adjacent fractal cell. A fractal of such a fractal cell can be of any suitable fractal shape and may have two or more iterations. The fractal cells may lie on a flat or curved sheet or layer and be composed in layers for wide bandwidth or multibandwidth transmission. The area of a surface and its number of fractals determines the gain relative to a single fractal cell. The boundary edges of the surface may be terminated resistively so as to not degrade the cell performance at the edges.

  • Patent number: 10029291
Abstract: A landfill well control system is disclosed which provides the ability to input a user selected set point to control a flow related variable at a landfill wellhead. A flow control actuator controls movement of a landfill gas (LFG) flow control valve. A sensor may be used for sensing the flow related variable. A controller is operably associated with the flow control actuator and the sensor. A user interface has a set selection for enabling a set point associated with the flow related variable, which is to be controlled by the system, to be input by the user. The controller operates to control the LFG flow control valve as needed to maintain the set point in an autopilot-like fashion.
