Abstract: A process for inscription of a sheet-like adhesive system of a polymer, preferably on the adhesive-free side thereof, with information is characterized in that the inscription is carried out with the aid of a movably guided laser beam in such a manner that a detrimental influence on the ingredients contained in the system, in particular by heat generated by the laser beam or by detrimental perforation of a backing layer impermeable to ingredients or water vapour, is avoided, and that to this end the intensity and penetration depth of the laser beam is adjusted according to the material properties of the system in such a way that the laser beam does not penetrate far enough to reach an ingredient-containing layer of the system.
Abstract: A surface-heating element for a curved surface and method of producing a heating element is provided. The heating element includes a continuous, planar conductor arranged along a longitudinal axis including a plurality of turns connected by regions being generally transverse to the longitudinal axis. The conductor including end portions each having a terminal for receiving electrical current. The heating element also includes a film applied to one side of the conductor and configured to substantially follow an outer contour of the conductor. The film and the conductor form a continuous web generally centered about the longitudinal axis, and at least one turn connecting two generally transverse regions extends beyond the continuous web. The heating element may also include an adhesive layer on the other side of the heating element sealingly engaging the film.

Abstract: A method for controlling the quality of the coolant for fuel cell systems, it being proposed to measure and monitor the insulation resistance of the load circuit of the fuel cell system. It has become apparent that there is a functional, uniquely defined relationship between the measured insulation resistance and the electrical conductivity of the coolant so that a separate measurement of the electrical conductivity by means of corresponding sensor systems and evaluation means can be dispensed with in the present invention.

Abstract: For carrying out a heterogeneously catalyzed reaction, such as the generation of hydrogen from hydrocarbons or alcohol, a reaction mixture comprising a hydrocarbon and water is supplied to a catalyst, which is produced by pressing at least one catalyst powder into a layer. Instead of a metallic housing, stacked layers are sealed by an edge seal, introduced into the layer or applied on the layer.
Abstract: A method for removing carbon monoxide from a gas stream, in which the gas stream loaded with CO is guided through a device, and the CO is removed from the gas stream through adsorption on the working electrode. As a function of an electrical voltage between the working electrode and the counter electrode, or between the working electrode and the reference electrode, an electrode cleaning mode is enabled by triggering a current flow between the working electrode and the counter electrode, and the CO adsorbed on the working electrode is oxidized to CO2.01.
Abstract: A control circuit for a vehicle seat having at least one heating element and at least one fan is provided. The control circuit includes a two-pole switch having two synchronously actuated switch elements. The switch elements are operatively connected to the heating element and the fan to operate the heating element and the fan in a first operating mode wherein only the heating element is active, and a second operating mode wherein both the heating element and the fan are active. When two heating elements are employed, the two heating elements are connected in parallel by the switch elements in the first operating mode and are connected in series by the switch elements in the second operating mode.

Abstract: The guide-vane system serves to change the position of the guide vanes of an axial-flow exhaust-gas turbine of a turbocharger. The guide vanes are arranged axially symmetrically to the turbine axis in a flow passage carrying exhaust gas and can be pivoted by a pivoting device in each case about a radially directed axis. A vane shank led radially outward from the flow passage through a casing wall is attached to each of the guide vanes. With its part directed outward, the vane shank is mounted so as to be rotatable about the pivot axis. The pivoting device contains an adjusting ring, arranged outside the flow passage and rotatable about the turbine axis, and also an adjusting lever which transmits a torque from the adjusting ring to the vane shank of each guide vane. The adjusting ring is mounted with its outside on rolling elements which are each designed as one-armed levers and are mounted so as to be pivotable on a component of a casing wall, this component being designed as a supporting ring.

Abstract: A bayonet attachment on a cartridge for attaching a mixer or accessory to a multiple component cartridge is formed as a ring-shaped bayonet socket with two internal recesses and two diametrically opposed cutouts forming one bayonet coupling part, whereas the bayonet attachment of the mixer or accessory comprises two bayonet lugs corresponding to the cutouts. In a preferred embodiment, the respective inlets of the mixer housing or the outlets of the cartridge have different sizes or shapes to provide coded alignment between the cartridge and the mixer.
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method of initiating oxygen scavenging in a packaging article comprising an oxygen scavenging polymer. The method involves (i) providing the packaging article comprising the oxygen scavenging polymer, wherein the packaging article comprises an interior surface and an exterior surface; (ii) wetting the interior surface of the packaging article with a solution comprising a peroxide, to result in a packaging article with a wetted surface; and (iii) exposing the wetted surface to an initiating factor, to initiate oxygen scavenging by the packaging article. Typically, the initiating factor is ultraviolet light, heat, or both.

a detectable protective layer
a pressure-sensitive adhesive reservoir layer and
a backing layer with or without a coating of pressure-sensitive adhesive and featuring a unintentionally, preferably longitudinally, elastic material having an elasticity of at least 20%. Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and a device for arranging at least two sheets in a shingled mode of arrangement, wherein a first sheet is moved in a paper travelling direction, and a second sheet is simultaneously moved in a direction at an angle relative to the paper travelling direction in such a way that the at least two sheets are slid one on top of the other. Alternatively, the first and the second sheet are moved in a first and in a second direction at respective different angles relative to a paper travelling direction. Another alternative is to move the two sheets in a first and in a second direction at different speeds but at identical angles relative to the paper travelling direction.

Abstract: An error tolerant computer controlled system comprises several computers working redundantly and controlling actuators based on signals from sensors and input devices. Each data item emitted by each computer is simultaneously sent through differing communication paths to each actuator, such that in normal operation each actuator receives each data item through several paths. This system continues to function properly even in case of a failure without requiring any re-routing of the data items, which makes it easier to design, analyze and test and thereby increases its reliability.

Abstract: The invention relates to a process for producing hot-seal packs, in particular for transdermal therapeutic systems, by welding to one another, at predetermined linear regions and at polymer layers facing towards one another, two laps of continuous pack material composed of two or more layers. To this end, one (or two) sealing tool(s) are used to bring the pack material into contact with pressure and heat. To improve the quality of the welded seams without altering the cycle rate, according to the invention the sealing time is doubled and the temperature of the sealing tool(s) (1, 2) is reduced so that there is a considerable reduction in the temperature reached within the pack material (3, 4), this temperature then being only slightly above the melting point of the polymer used. An example of a sealing tool (1, 2) is given (FIG. 1).
