Abstract: A reactor structure has a heat transfer layer stacking construction with a stack of heat-conductive plate elements which, alternating in the stacking direction, bound one catalyst-filled reactor layer and one tempering layer respectively, adjacent plate elements being connected in a fluid-tight manner on at least two closed side areas. The plate elements on the closed side areas are bent in a U-shape and are arranged with U-side flanks which rest against one another in the stack such that the reactor layers have a larger height than the tempering layers. In addition or as an alternative, heat-conductive corrugated ribs are inserted at least in the reactor layers which are higher than the tempering layers.

Abstract: In a turbocharger (1), comprising a turbine (2) and a compressor (3) connected to the turbine (2), the turbine (2) contains a turbine wheel (4) and the compressor (3) contains a compressor wheel (7) which are connected to one another by means of a shaft (10) and are arranged in a housing (5, 9, 16). During operation, if the compressor wheel (7) separates from the shaft (10), an axial force acts on the turbine wheel (4) and the shaft (10) connected thereto. A means (22, 25) for axially locking the shaft and the turbine wheel connected thereto in the housing (5, 9, 16) is arranged on the shaft (10) connected to the turbine wheel (4).

Abstract: A fuel cell system and associated method allows for continuous operation of the fuel cell system with fuel recirculation, without the necessity for periodic purging. A portion of the anode exhaust is not recirculated but is continuously bled from the anode exhaust line. Preferably, less than 5% by volume of the anode exhaust is allowed to bleed continuously from the anode exhaust. The bleed line may be connected to a catalytic reactor which combusts the unused fuel. The cathode exhaust may be used as the oxidant for the catalytic reactor. The flow of exhaust to the catalytic reactor may be controlled to ensure that the concentration of hydrogen in the catalytic reactor is no higher than 50% of the lower limit of inflammability for hydrogen.
Abstract: A fuel cell installation containing a gas generation system, for the production of a hydrogen-containing gas, and a fuel cell system, which comprises a fuel cell, a compressor, an expander that is coupled with the compressor and a burner, the exhaust gases of which are directed to the expander. The gas generation system and the fuel cell system are designed as independent modules with respect to the supply of energy and process streams. Energy storage and energy conversion devices are arranged between the expander and the compressor in the fuel cell system.

Abstract: A receiving case for a video unit includes an electronic console (2) and an associated independent screen (3), which case includes stowing sections (4,5) suited to accommodate respectively the electronic console (2) and the associated screen (3), and also includes an element to hold the external face of the stowing section (5) suited to accommodate the screen (3) tight against the rear face of the head-rest section of a seat. These holding device consists of a fastening system, for instance in the form of single block head-rest protective cover (20).
Abstract: The shaft is connected to the shaft attachment by a thread. A bore with an internal thread is incorporated in the shaft attachment and the shaft has a corresponding stem which can be introduced into the threaded bore and has an external thread. An axial stop is arranged on the shaft and on the shaft attachment. The internal and external threads have torque-transmitting flanks which are flat toward the axis and which can be connected to one another frictionally by radial pressure by mutual rotation of shaft and shaft attachment with interaction between the axial stops. Owing to the small angle between the load-bearing flanks and the axis, the radial pressure decisive for the torque transmission is correspondingly greater than in conventional threaded connections. As a result, the axial prestressing force between the two parts to be connected can be correspondingly reduced.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for securing a pour spout fitment to a panel of a filled and sealed thermoplastic-coated carton, wherein a machine 10 is mounted over a conveyor 12 conveying a line of cartons. Within the machine 10, a selected panel surface of each filled and sealed carton is heated to a predetermined temperature; next, at least an annular surface of a flange of the fitment is heated to a predetermined temperature. When the heated surface of the fitment is applied to the heated surface of the carton, the heat energy is transferred to the latter surface to an extent capable of activating the thermoplastic coating thereon. Upon pressing and cooling, the fitment and the carton surface are bonded together, without the need for a back-up or support mechanism, such as a mandrel or anvil. Alternatively, the fitment may be secured to the carton by way of a jetted-on, circular bead of hot melt adhesive.
