  • Patent number: 9275073
Abstract: Master Street Address Guide (MSAG)-validated street address data is correlated with real-world geographic (e.g., latitude/longitude) data. Conventional MSAG-validated street address data is processed, or geocoded, into an additional (or integrated) database that associates latitude/longitude information with a particular entry in the existing MSAG-validated database. The association of the lat/lon data may be direct, or indirect using link ID or other unique tags indicating a particular entry in the MSAG-validated database. The geocoding need be performed only once by a service provider, e.g., as part of the deployment of an emergency service system. In this way, the closest public service answering point (PSAP) to a given latitude/longitude position of a wireless or VoIP device may be determined quickly, providing emergency services with the smallest possible reliable response time.

  • Patent number: 9276925
Abstract: Methods and systems for managing cloud zones are described herein. A management server for a cloud of computing resources may add private zones to the cloud. The private zones may contain computers owned and operated by a user of the cloud, such as a cloud customer, rather than the cloud operator. The management server may manage the computing resources in the private zone by sending commands to an agent, which in turn relays the management server's commands to the individual computing resources. The agent may be authenticated using a token.

  • Patent number: 9272685
Abstract: An apparatus (10) including a protection device (14) has a front panel (74) presented towards an occupant (20, 20a) and is inflatable between a vehicle surface (36, 38) and the occupant (20, 20a). A vent (100) releases inflation fluid from the protection device (14). The vent (100) has an actuated condition and a non-actuated condition prior to deployment of the protection device (14). A vent tether (154, 168) has a first end secured to the vent (100) end a second end having a releasable connection (153) with the protection device (14). A trigger tether (152,162) has a first end connected to the front panel (74) and a second end connected to the protection device (14) at the releasable connection (158). The trigger tether (152,162) Is slackened when the protection device (14) deploys less than a predetermined degree such that the releasable connection (158) remains intact to allow the vent tether (154,168) to place the vent (100) in the actuated condition.

  • Publication number: 20160057070
Abstract: This disclosure is directed generally to systems and methods for implementation of Jumbo frames in an existing network stack. In some embodiments, a connection handler of a device receives data having a size greater than an Ethernet frame size. That data includes header data and payload data. The device partitions the data into segments including a first segment and a second segment. The first segment includes the header data and a first portion of the payload data, while the second segment includes a second portion of the payload data. The device stores the first and second segments in first and second network buffers, respectively, of a pool of network buffers. The device forms a packet chain of the first and second network buffers having a size greater than the Ethernet frame size. The device transmits the packet chain via a network connection.

  • Patent number: 9270335
Abstract: A receive attenuation system for a trainline communication system utilizing an intra-consist electrical cable has an analog front end amplifier, a trainline communication processor, an adjustable attenuator, and a gain controller. The trainline communication processor is configured to generate a receive gain control signal configured to control receive gain of the analog front end amplifier. The adjustable attenuator is capable of being coupled to the intra-consist electrical cable and configured to variably attenuate signals received from the intra-consist electrical cable before transmitting the signals to the analog front end amplifier. The gain controller is coupled to the adjustable attenuator and configured to detect the receive gain control signal generated by the trainline communication processor, determine a supplemental attenuation control value based on the detected receive gain control signal, and control the adjustable attenuator according to the supplemental attenuation control signal.

  • Patent number: 9268340
Abstract: Flow distribution networks that supply process gas to two or more stations in a multi-station deposition chamber. Each flow distribution network includes an inlet and flow distribution lines for carrying process gas to the stations. The flow distribution lines include a branch point downstream from the inlet and two or more branches downstream from the branch point. Each branch supplies a station. The flow distribution network also includes highly variable flow elements in each branch. Restrictive components are placed downstream from the variable control elements in each branch. These restrictive components are nominally identical and designed to shift the bulk of the pressure drop away from the variable flow components to improve flow balancing while not unduly increasing inlet pressure. In some cases, the load shifting allows the more variable flow components to operate in the unchoked flow regime.

  • Patent number: 9270609
Abstract: A system and method for sharing a WAN TCP tunnel between multiple flows without having head of the line blocking problem is disclosed. When a complete but out of order PDU is stuck behind an incomplete PDU in a TCP tunnel, the complete but out of order PDU is removed from the tunnel. To do that, first the boundaries of the PDUs of the different flows are preserved and the TCP receive window advertisement is increased. The receive window is opened when initially receiving out-of-order data. As out-of-order complete PDUs are pulled out of the receive queue, to address double counting, place holders are used in the receive queue to indicate data that was in the queue. As out-of-order data PDUs are pulled out of the queue the window advertisement is increased. This keeps the sending side from running out of TX window and stopping transmission of new data.

  • Patent number: 9268477
Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer-readable media for providing contextual menus are presented. In some embodiments, a computing device may receive user input. Subsequently, the computing device may determine, based on the received user input, that a drag-and-drop operation has been completed, where the drag-and-drop operation includes at least one item being dragged from a source palette to a target palette. In response to determining that the drag-and-drop operation has been completed, the computing device may cause a contextual menu associated with the at least one item to be displayed. In some arrangements, the contextual menu may be a configuration menu. Additionally or alternatively, causing the contextual menu to be displayed may include animating the contextual menu as a panel that slides into view from at least one edge of a displayed user interface.

  • Patent number: 9266300
Abstract: A machine for converting a web of preformed pouches into inflated dunnage units. The pouches are defined by transverse seals extending from a remote edge to within a predetermined distance from an inflation edge. The machine includes a tensioning device for frictional engagement with the web, an inflation arrangement for inflation of the preformed pouches, a sealing arrangement, and a clamping arrangement. The sealing arrangement may be positioned to provide a longitudinal seal that intersects the transverse seals to close the preformed pouches and form a dunnage unit. The tensioning device holds the web taught during downstream travel.

  • Patent number: 9270674
Abstract: A method of managing access to enterprise resources is provided. An access manager may operate at a mobile device to validate a mobile application installed at that mobile device. If the access manager does not successfully validate the mobile application, the access manager may prevent the mobile application from accessing computing resource. If the access manager does successfully validate the mobile application, then the access manager may identify the mobile application as a trusted mobile application. The access manager may thus permit the trusted mobile application to access the computing resource.
