  • Patent number: 9652854
Abstract: A method for processing image data includes identifying a background scene in a background frame of an image. Each of a plurality of pixel locations in the background frame is set as a respective background pixel. For each of the pixel locations, a respective running mean and a respective running variance are determined based on a brightness component of the background frame at the pixel location. A subsequent frame is identified as a current frame. For each of the pixel locations in the current frame identified as a background pixel, the running mean is updated based on one of a plurality of mean weights and the running variance is updated based one of a plurality of variance weights.

  • Patent number: 9654925
Abstract: A device disposed on a subject to maintain the subject within a containment zone and track the subject if the subject exits the containment zone. The device includes a positioning unit for generating position data including satellite positioning data. There is a processor unit to determine from the position data if the subject is inside or outside of the containment zone. The processor unit operates in a containment mode when the subject is inside the containment zone and in a tracking mode when the subject exits the containment zone. A correction unit issues a stimulus when the subject exits the containment zone and terminates the stimulus when the processor unit enters the tracking mode from the containment mode. There is a communication unit which transmits an alert to an electronic device of an operator when the processor unit transitions from the containment to tracking mode.

  • Patent number: 9646172
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for securely storing and accessing data records. In an embodiment, a random seed value and a time period counter received from a warrant server. The seed value may correspond to a starting time period and be updated by applying a one-way function to the seed value upon expiration of the starting time period and each subsequent time period. A data record may then be received including one or more data fields. A data field may be identified to use as an index value, and an encryption key may be generated based on the current random seed value and the index value. The data record and/or the index value may then be encrypted using the encryption key, and the encryption key may be securely deleted after encrypting the data record and/or the index value. The warrant server may then assist with recovery of the data.
