Patent number: 5140475Abstract: A tape recorder is provided with a device for eliminating any slack of a tape inside a tape cassette before initiation of a reproducing operation. In the state that forward movement of a head mounting plate is inhibited by a lock member and rotation of one of paired reel spindles is inhibited by a brake, a reel gear of the other reel spindle is driven via a slack eliminating gear supported on a movable member. When the tape inside the tape cassette has been taken up over a length equal to the slack on the other reel spindle and the other reel spindle has been stopped, the slack eliminating gear receives a reaction force from the reel gear to move the movable member. This movement of the movable member releases the lock member so that the head mounting plate is allowed to move substantially further and the brake is also disengaged from the one reel spindle to start a reproducing operation.Type: GrantFiled: December 6, 1991Date of Patent: August 18, 1992Assignee: Tanashin Denki Co., Ltd.Inventor: Shinsaku Tanaka

Patent number: 4956731Abstract: A tape feeding direction controlling device for an automatic reversing tape recorder wherein operation of a first or a second high speed operating member during a reproducing operation will cause high speed feeding of a tape in the same or in the opposite direction. The tape feeding direction controlling device comprises a feeding direction controlling member, a high speed change-over member, and a pivotal member connected to be bodily moved by the feeding direction controlling member. Depending upon whether the pivotal member is at its first or second position, it is pivoted in opposite directions by the first or second high speed operating member, and pivotal motion of the pivotal member in one or the other direction moves the high speed change-over member from its neutral position to a first or a second position in which it causes a tape feeding mechanism to feed a tape at a high speed in one or the other direction.Type: GrantFiled: March 20, 1989Date of Patent: September 11, 1990Assignee: Tanashin Denki Co., Ltd.Inventor: Toshio Yoshimura

Patent number: 4905105Abstract: An automatic stop mechanism for a tape recorder is described. When a magnetic tape has been wound up fully on a reel, slipping takes place between a gear and reel shaft so that the reel shaft stops. As a consequence, a contact portion of a cam follower is caused to separate from a cam surface and a cam is brought into contact with the contact portion. Since the fulcrum of the cam follower is fixed, a turnable lever is caused to turn clockwise so that a gear is separated form the gear. By the turning motion of the turnable lever, its bent end portion presses a lug of a lock member from the right, thereby shifting the lock member leftwards. A head mounting plate is hence released from its engagement with the lock member and is allowed to return to its non-operated position, whereby a magnetic head is allowed to return to its stop position.Type: GrantFiled: September 30, 1987Date of Patent: February 27, 1990Assignee: Tanashin Denki Co., Ltd.Inventors: Shinsaku Tanaka, Kunio Kido

Patent number: 4899239Abstract: A tape recorder of the automatic reversing type which can attain reduction in time required and simplification in structure for turning over of a magnetic head and wherein possible dislocation of a magnetic head which is apt to readily appear where a head turning over system is employed can be prevented assuredly. The tape recorder comprises a head mount and a magnetic head structure mounted for rotation around an axis in the head mount and including a magnetic head. Each time the feeding direction of the tape is to be reversed, the magnetic head structure is rotated by an angle of 180 degrees to turn over the magnetic head from one to another track of a tape in a tape cassette loaded in position in the tape recorder with the magnetic head held in contact with the tape. A pair of fixed tape guides for contacting with the tape to inhibit lateral widthwise movement of the tape are secured at opposite positions of the head mount with respect to the magnetic head.Type: GrantFiled: September 22, 1987Date of Patent: February 6, 1990Assignee: Tanashin Denki Co., Ltd.Inventor: Kunio Kido
