Publication number: 20020102914Abstract: A strain relief for protection of electrical and other cords extending from a component. The strain relief is made from a hard plug piece which attaches to the case or housing of the component. The cord extends through this plug piece via a passageway. This plug piece has a plurality of holes therethrough which connect the passageway with its outer surface. An molded jacket is molded onto the plug piece, wherein the injected material extends through the holes, into the passageway, and surrounding the cord. The injected material is preferably softer than the material used for the plug piece. The result is a one piece strain relief which is bonded to the cord.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 26, 2002Publication date: August 1, 2002Applicant: Pro-Team, Inc.Inventor: Richard L. Coombs

Patent number: 6421875Abstract: A vacuum cleaner floor tool in which offset air intake openings create multiple organized vortices in the vacuum chamber of the floor tool. Air intake openings on the side of the tool produce horizontally oriented vortices and allow the cleaning to be effective along the edge of the tool. A curved or broadened tool edge prevents the tool from being drawn into carpet by vacuum, and allows it to be pushed with little resistance across carpet even though the vacuum within the vacuum chamber is strong enough to produce high air flow through the air intake slots.Type: GrantFiled: June 12, 2000Date of Patent: July 23, 2002Assignee: Pro-Team, Inc.Inventors: Richard L. Coombs, Michael J. Shideler

Patent number: 5908044Abstract: An apparatus for injecting sealant into the packing chamber of a valve requiring no venting of pressure within the valve. The apparatus which includes an interior valve is attached to the valve body by drilling and tapping a connection or by friction welding. A high pressure packing gland is attached to the apparatus and a drill bit is passed through the combination to complete an opening into the packing chamber. The drill bit is withdrawn past the interior valve, which is closed and then out of the combination. The packing gland is removed and a sealant injection device attached. The interior valve is opened and sealant injected into the packing chamber. The valve is closed, a completion plug installed into the end of the fitting, and a completion cap with a sealing ring is installed over the entire valve and fitting, thereby forming multiple redundant seals.Type: GrantFiled: November 26, 1997Date of Patent: June 1, 1999Assignee: Team, Inc.Inventors: John P. Patent number: 5715980Abstract: A vehicle article carrier having at least one lateral cross rail selectively positionable along longitudinally extending side rails. Stanchions are connected to opposite ends of the cross rail and slidably engage longitudinally formed interior cavities in the side rails. A latch is coupled between each stanchion and each side rail to releasably latch each stanchion and the cross rail in a selected, fixed position along the side rails. An actuator controls the latch. In one embodiment, the actuator is formed by a movable lateral fit between the stanchion and the interior cavity in the side rails permitting lateral movement of each stanchion in each side rail upon push or pull of either stanchion. In another embodiment, the actuator includes a movable operator connected by cables to at least one latch pin carried by a stanchion which is releasably engageable with one of a plurality of spaced apertures formed longitudinally along a side rail.Type: GrantFiled: May 20, 1996Date of Patent: February 10, 1998Assignee: The American Team, Inc.Inventors: Karl Blankenburg, Karl Van Blankenburg, Duane Rode, Henry Buhlinger

Patent number: 5377458Abstract: A pressure compensating lung balances pressure between open and closed environments which are substantially isolated from and independent of each other, for example, the Earth's open environment and the closed environment of a second, smaller closed ecological system, Biosphere 2. The lung has an airtight housing and a barrier which includes a flexible membrane, one side of which faces Biosphere 2 and the other side of which faces the outside, with a central pan the perimeter of which is surrounded by the membrane. The membrane has approximately the shape of a surface of a torus. It deviates from a toroidal shape sufficiently to avoid substantial circumferential tension in the membrane. The weight of the pan exerts a positive pressure on the atmosphere in Biosphere 2 for preventing inward leaks.Type: GrantFiled: March 18, 1993Date of Patent: January 3, 1995Assignee: Decisions Team, Inc.Inventor: William F. Dempster

Patent number: 5304757Abstract: A combination differential and static pressure switch utilized in a test system for detecting the occurrence of a differential pressure condition within the test system. The test system includes a valve assembly in flow communication with the pressure switch for determining the working pressure applied to a workpiece being tested. The pressure switch includes a first tubular-shaped member and a second tubular-shaped member axially aligned therewith and adapted for removable securement to the first tubular-shaped member. A differential piston is disposed for slidable reciprocal movement within the first tubular-shaped member and a preset piston is disposed within the second tubular-shaped member and is adapted for slidable reciprocal movement therein. Both pistons are axially aligned to each other, and the differential piston has a magnet mounted to the face end thereof.Type: GrantFiled: March 26, 1992Date of Patent: April 19, 1994Assignee: Tech Team, Inc.Inventor: Frederick W. Patent number: 5295392Abstract: A hydrostatic test system for subjecting a workpiece or test specimen to a predetermined test pressure until the workpiece fails by developing a leak detectable by the test system. The hydrostatic test system is a modular system readily adaptable to, and able to incorporate therein, a number of different physical devices for regulating, controlling, detecting, and registering functions and activities pertaining to leak detection. Among the devices adaptable in the hydrostatic test system for detecting a leak condition in the workpiece is a differential pressure switch and a static pressure switch, a combination differential and static pressure switch, or an accumulator associated with either a pressure transducer or a high accuracy transducer. The leak condition may be visually signaled by a lamp or indicator light or the sensing of a leak condition may be visually output to a CRT screen.Type: GrantFiled: March 26, 1992Date of Patent: March 22, 1994Assignee: Tech Team, Inc.Inventors: Frederick W. Hensel, Mark F. Hensel, Steve D. Sandstrum, John Coleman, John H. Parnell, Stephen J. Boros

Patent number: 5118139Abstract: A leak repair clamp for pipe and pipe flanges providing a segmented frame adapted to receive interchangeable annular segmented inserts. All of the inserts provide for interlocking connection with the frame segments but each insert is adapted to fit around one particular diameter cylindrical surface out of a range of different diameter cylindrical surfaces. By selecting particular sized inserts, a single frame can accommodate a wide range of different diameter pipes and pipe fittings. When the insert segments are interlocked into the frame segments, the frame segments are then integrated by bolting threaded studs through flanges to form a unit, which in combination with two interlocked inserts is fastened around and against the cylindrical surface. Thrust restraining set screws are provided to prevent movement of the metal frame relative to the cylindrical surface the frame is fastened around and against.Type: GrantFiled: June 28, 1989Date of Patent: June 2, 1992Assignee: Team, Inc.Inventor: Charles L.
